I was thinking about purchasing a set of 550 BCC fan of cards chips from gamelandsports.com. They are only .39 cents each! I wanted to get only .50 and $1 chips. The blinds would be .50/$1. How many chips do you suggest I buy of each color? Thanks!
Is it a fix limit game? If so, buy more $1 than $.50. Maybe 200 $.50 and 350 $1's or make the ratio even higher 100 $.50 and 450 $1's. Looks like you just need enough $.50 to cover the small blind.
I don't like the idea of having your highest denom being equal to the big blind. This will not leave you with enough chips for rebuys all night.
Your buyin would likely be from $50 - $100. Assuming the LOWEST likely buyin of $50 and a full 10 player table, you would have $500 in chips in play. Even if you bought all $1 chips yopu would only have $550 in your cash set.
With .50/$I blinds, I would suggest you buy some combination of .50/$5/$25 chips...as a $1 chips would not really be necessary if you have a .50 chip.
If you're set on .50/$1s only go with 150 x $0.50 and 400 x $1.
A more reasonable cash set would be to include at least 100 $5 chips.
550 chips = 150 x $0.50 + 300 x $1 + 100 x $5 = $875
If you have more than that, add a $25 chip (I don't think they have a $20)

Yeah, i would like to get some $5 chips but gamelandsports does not have any left...i guess i could get them from another vendor. The majority of players would buy in for $30-$50. I usually play NL Hold em' or Omaha with anywhere from 4-7 players.
For a .50/1.00 NL game, you will definitely need some $5 chips. I would buy a few $25 chips too. You only need a small amount of $.50 chips, just enough for small blind.
I would go with 100 $.50, 300 $1, 100 $5, 50 $25.
