I have finally completed my set of PNYs and the denominations break down as follows:
200 - $5
150 - $25
100 - $100
50 - $500
My question is if you were to buy some $1000 and $5000 plaques, how many of each would you buy?
I'd like to add some plaques to the set but am just not sure how many of each to buy. I'm thinking I may not even need the $5000 plaques and just get about 12 $1000 plaques. What do you think?

i would only buy 1000 & 5000 chips if my tourneys required them.

how big are your tourneys and what's the initial chipstack? do you do rebuys and addons?

the answers may help you decide how many you will actually need.

if you're gonna get them even though you don't need them, well, you don't need us to tell you how many to get now, do you? get as many as you want!

As 4ceps says it depends on what your tourney structure is. If you are using $5 chips I don't think you would have much need for $1000 plaques, and absolutely no need for $5000 plaques.

I think the $1000 plaques are justified if you allow rebuys or have a large number of players in your touney.

That being said I own quite a few of Harleqinn and Blondewidow's plaques just because I like them. If you like them do the same.

As the folks above have said, you really only need the plaques for rebuys. I'm assuming with that breakdown you do a T1000 tournay as that set up is almost exactly what my set up was. In my setup the $500 were used as the rebuy chips we had starting stacks of
20 -$5
12 - $25
6 - $100

This setup is good for 10 people, if you use it for twenty folks then halve the starting amounts and give each person a $500 chip...not sure if the $1000 plaques would ever come in unless you did rebuys and only if you host a 20 person tourney. If you do a T1500, then I could see using the plaques for rebuys for sure. You could buy them for the hell of it too...it's always nice to have things to stack and stare at...the little things can make you happy

It depends on how high the denominations you want in your tourney. With that many 500s, I'm not sure you need a ton of $1000s. Like you, I have a set that is heavy in the 5s, 25s, and 100s. I have 50 $500s and 25 $1000s, but since it only takes two $500s to make a $1000, I have always thought that I might have too many. For me, 40/10 would have been a better breakdown. But then again, I do not play tournies with really high chip counts.

I agree with all the above... You may want 5-10 1k plaques for rebuys (if all 50 x $500 chips will be in play)...

My tournament structure usually is about 8-10 guys and they receive $2000 - $2500 in chips depending on how many.
I guess I was just really looking for an excuse from you guys to buy about 12 of those Tower plaques. Basically just to stare at but also hopefully to use.
