Chips: 203 | | | micro cash setup question I am going to be starting a $25 buy-in micro NL cash game with blinds at $.10/$.25. My question is this, would it be better to have a $.05 chip or a $.10 to use for the small blind.
There are arguments that can be made for both but I have never played in a live cash game so I do not know which arguments should out-weigh the others.
The chip set that I will be using for this has the following breakdown:
80 purple (either $.05 or $.10)
200 pink ($.25)
320 yellow ($1) |

Plus you can't break down one 25 cent chip into 10 cent chips, so I would go with the 5 cent, because then you can also use it as an ante chip in a stud game if you ever wanted to.

Chips: 2,456 | | | Re: micro cash setup question if I was you, I would use .10/.20 blinds, because the dimes are only used for posting blinds. you put your dime out there, then everyone limps and it becomes useless. you remove it and replace it with a quarter chip.
I would not recommend a .5 chip for .10/.25, it will slow the game down, while people count them to make their calls.
ditch the idea of .5 chip. |

Just an idea. | It is a set of Engdahl chips with a HS design on each side. They have no denomination on them so I will be able to play various games/limits with them by changing the denoms. |

80 of the smallest chips doesnt work, unless you only have 8 players at your game, because you're stuck with odd amounts in starting stacks. For example, if you have a full (10 player) table, you can only give each player 8 chips, meaning they'll either have $.40 or $.80 in small chips -- and I don't think you want your buy-ins to be $19.80 or $24.40 or something odd like that... |

I took that into consideration when determining my purchase.
The reason I was thinking .10/.25 blinds was because that is what they are at PP.
Having them be .10/.20 does make more sense. Then should I not have .25 chips, or does it still make sense to go with .10/.25/1 chips. |

seriously, ditch the .10/.25, keep the quarter chips in play, though. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
