T 10'000 Tourney up to 10 players

Based on the replies I now think I'm gonna do it like this:

Breakdown

I thought I go with tomb1's suggestion. But after playing some, with 8 25s, I saw my player calling and low betting too much and having to few low denoms, so I go with 12.

Startingstack:
12 x 25
12 x 100 (17)
9 x 500 ( 8 )
4 x 1000

Total Chips:
130 x 25
200 x 100
120 x 500
50 x 1000

Blindstructure

Blindraise after 20 mins:
25/50
50/100
100/200
150/300
-color up T 25-->T 100

Blindraise after 15 mins from now on:
200/400
300/600
400/800
600/1200
800/1600

Blindraise after 10 mins from now on:
1k/2k
1.2k/2.4
-color up T 100-->T 500/1000
1.5k/3k
2k/4k
3k/6k
4k/8k
6k/12k
8k/16k
10k/20k

I think I could stick with that. Thx for all the feedback which helped me a lot. VIVA CT.

I would be pleased to get some feedback on my planned chipbreakdown. I'm planning to buy my first chipset (probably china desert palms) with following breakdown.

Later I realised chip probably are only sold in packs of 50, so I made another breakdown regarding this Issue, I think it's similarily good.

I play most fridays a Hold'em NL , like mostly 8-10 people. No Rebuy, just once 10'000.

My current blind structure:

25/50
50/100
100/200
150/300
200/400
250/500
300/600
400/800
500/1000
700/1400
800/1600
1000/2000
1500/3000
2000/4000
3000/6000
5000/10000
7500/15000
10000/20000

Raising blind after 13 minutes. So it can last till more than 4 hours.

Oh btw, relatively new here, but read some and saw a very nice community. So keep it up with the great stacking of chipknowledge.

Greetz

Re: T 10'000 Tourney up to 10 players

Hopefully you can ditch the extra 30 $25 (completely useless to you) and put them into $500 and $1000, that way you can completely color up the $100 chips as your blinds increase.

edit: I see that you already can. Perhaps keep the extras in case you have 11 or 12 at the game one week. good breakdown.

Re: T 10'000 Tourney up to 10 players

I really do not see any problems with this if you want it to last 4 hours or so. Only suggestions would be I am guessing you ment to type 300/600 in your blinds instead of 200/600. Also if you wanted a smaller chips set you could use the WSOP breakdown of:

8/25
8/100
8/500
5/1000

Re: T 10'000 Tourney up to 10 players

Thanx for your feedback. I cap my games to ten people, as my place is relatively small, and the air is getting short with all the smoke

So I think there are enough chips, oh have posted twice the same, had one with not 50packs. --> fixed

But as I read I should anyway go with the 2nd as there are so much low denoms in the first but , if I can change some 25s to 500 and 1000 I may do, good tip

Re: T 10'000 Tourney up to 10 players

yeah, too many 25's in the first (fixed) one. you only use them until 250/500 and you'll be able to remove most of them long before that. Might want even fewer

8 25's really isn't as bad as it appears on the face, they are normally only used to post blinds and size bets correctly... people just naturally grab 3-100 and 2-25 when they bet 350. Rarely will a player use a stack of 25 to bet 500.

Good breakdown and good structure. A few tweaks for your blinds though:

I'd suggest changing the 700/1400 to 600/1200. I'd also remove the 500/1000 level, but that's more optional. Right now that's a weird jump, as you jump SB 200 then 100 then 200 again.

I'd also drop the 5k/10k and 7500/15k levels and replace them with 4k/8k, 6k/12k, 8k/16k.

I'm not a big fan of the 250/500 level and would prefer to see a 1200/2400 level added in its place, but also understand the need for an additional low level blind w/13 minutes per round.

I agree with Space Monkey, I would also make the first few rounds a little longer like 20 min. I think it will be hard to get an orbit in with 10 people at the table.

Grützi und wilkommen,

I agree with this. Having 13 minutes blinds at the beginning will not make for a smooth game.

Here is a stack we start with:
8 x 25
13 x 100
8 x 500
4 x 1000

You could buy these chips:
100 x 25
200 x 100
150 x 500
50 x 1000

You can color up all the 25s into 100s early, then color up the 100s into 500s to finish the tournament with only 500s & 1000s on the table. You could also expand up to 12 people if you play at another location.

Not trying to be to picky, but I use the very same structure, but I think you ment to have 9-500. That will give you 10K

Re: T 10'000 Tourney up to 10 players

I went with a 300 chip set for T10,000 (20 minute blinds) starting at 100/200

150 x 100
100 x 500
50 x 1000

Distribution per player

15x100
7 x 500
5 x 1000

The extra $500 chips left over is plenty to colour up the 100's.

Limiting your chip count to 300 will also leave some money to buy a nice set of hotstamped paulsons for your "cash game" set.... lol
