Chip Breakdown help...

Hey guys. I discovered this site sometime last week (the days blurred together from reading so much, lol) and now I'd like a little help or advice...

I'm planning on buying some of the 2006 WSOP replica chips from Epokerdeals.com, and I'm just trying to figure out how I should break the chips down by denoms. I figure right now I could only get about 300 chips. I like the higher denoms, so I'd like to start at like 1000/2000 blinds or something. My initial chip breakdown that I worked on for a while was as follows:

100 - Yellow 1000 chips
100 - Lavender (2005) 5000 chips
50 - Black 10000 chips
50 - Beige 50000 chips

I figured my small group of usually not more than 7 or 8 players could start with 10x1000, 10x5000, and 4x10000 for T100000. I would likely allow rebuys, and the beige chips would work well for that, and by the end of the tourney, there'd only be 10000 and 50000 chips on the table for a total of 3000000 chips in play maximum. Not a bad setup, but now here's my dilema...

At a couple home games I go to, I'm the all time dealer, and one game uses 10 dollar chips (with 5, 10, 25, and 100's in play), and the other uses 50 dollar chips (with 5, 25, 50, 100, 500 in play). I find these chips very annoying in their respective games as there isn't a stop and color phase of the tourney. I'm just wondering if maybe with the 3 extra zeros on the end, and the two chips working together, maybe it wouldn't seem as annoying as it currently is in separate games. My goal, is to eventually have a complete set of these chips, but I can only afford about 300 right now, so I'd like a small playable set for the time being.

Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Chip Breakdown help...

i'm not sure i understand your dilema, but if i were to get a wsop chip now, i have a couple of suggestions. First off, i'd loose the defunct 50k chip as its been replaced. For a small group up to ten T100,000, i'd go with:

100 x 1k...10 each
75 x 5k...5 each+color up 1k+extra
50 x 10k...4 each+extra
50 x 25k...1 each+color up 10k & 5k (same time)+extra
25 x100k...probably not needed to color up, use 'em all for rebuys, addons

Now you have up to 1,000,000 in starting chips and up to 3,500,000 in total chips in play. Also extra chips could be used to chip up odd chips.
