Goofy WSOP breakdown

I know I have a playable set in here, Its just a matter of finding it.

What I've got...

100 - 425
500 - 150
1000 - 210
5000 - 125
10,000 - 115
50,000 - 70
100,000 - 115

I'd like to use these in my WSOP ME tourny were all the entrants shell out $500 for trip to the WSOP ME. For every 15K we would send someone out to Vegas with accomodations and flights for two. The bubble finishers would get the remaining cash.

I'm thinking 30-50 players max.

Can any of you suggest a tourny breakdown and starting stack sizes?

Re: Goofy WSOP breakdown

Here's what I would do...
This will support 40 max players, you'd have to tweak it for 50.

$ 100.00 10 $1,000.00 $ 500.00 3 $1,500.00 $ 1,000.00 5 $5,000.00 $ 5,000.00 1 $5,000.00
So each player starts with $12,500 in chips, blinds start out at $100-$200
If you only want to start with $10000 in chips remove a $500 & two $1000's.

My home game standard starting stacks are:

$25 x 8
$100 x 13
$500 x 4

for a total of $3500, with $25-$50 blinds
this is modeled after a local casino's tourney's starting stacks

$25 x 4
$100 x 9
$500 x 3
$1000 x 1

but they have dealers to make change so they can get away with limiting the number of small denoms.

anyway hope this helps,
JJ

Re: Goofy WSOP breakdown

Yeah, I agree with that structure for 40 players, although you might want to consider starting the blinds at $100-$100 which will allow more manoeuvrability with the starting stack size.

Fielding 50 players would be more difficult, but I would suggest the following starting stack with blinds starting at $100-$100:

$100 x 7
$500 x 3
$1000 x 3

This would give each player $5,200 in starting chips. If colouring up were necessaru, you would have to change $1000 chips in for $100 simply because there won't be any $500s left. 35 yellows would be sufficient to colour-up the blacks.

Using this structure, there would be 650 chips in play initially but only 315 after the colour-up, totalling $260,000.

$100-$100
$100-$200
$200-$400
$300-$600 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -1 hour
$500-$1000
$500-$1000 / $100
$600-$1200 / $200
$800-$1600 / $200 - - - - - - - - - - 2 hours
$1000-$2000 / $300
$1200-$2400 / $300
$1500-$3000 / $400 - - - - - - - - - Colour-up $100
$2000-$4000 / $500 - - - - - - - - - 3 hours
$2500-$5000 / $500 - - - - - - - - - Colour-up $500 if desired
$3000-$6000 / $1000
$4000-$8000 / $1000
$5000-$10000 / $1000 - - - - - - - -4 hours

$5000-$10000 should be enough to get the job done with 2 players left and an average stack of $130,000.

Hope this helps.

Re: Goofy WSOP breakdown

Oddly enough this breakdown works in a funky sort of way.
For up to 42 players you could have a T25,000 with each player receiving:

10 x 100
2 x 500
3 x 1000
2 x 5000
1 x 10000

Using this breakdown you can completeley color up the 100 & 500 chips to 1000 chips. You can also color up the 1000 to 5000 chips but would actually need to use just one 10000 chip for full color up. You could do rebuys using the extra 10 & 5k chips but that would make things sticky.

If you want to do rebuys then its probably best to eliminate 1 x 5k and 1 x 10k and just have a T10000. Then you can use the 10k chips to rebuy.

Re: Goofy WSOP breakdown

I did some spreadsheet work...

You can run a 24 person T25000 tourney with or without rebuys and addons with 29 chips each

chips denom (total in play) [remainder for coloring up/extras]
15 $100 (360) [65]
5 $500 (120) [30]
6 $1000 (144) [66]
3 $5000 (72) [53]

When the tourney gets short handed it will leave you a very comfortable number of chips on the table, having colored up to only $1000s and $5000s on the table...

Hope this is helpful!

Re: Goofy WSOP breakdown

Instead of my above post for 24 players, if you had only 10 people and wanted an uber high denom tourney, you could run a 10 person T250000 with 40 chips each

chips denom (total in play) [remainder for coloring up/extras]
20 $1000 (200) [10]
10 $5000 (100) [25]
8 $10000 (80) [35]
2 $50000 (20) [50]

Now I gave you a reason to keep them all! (Not that this was necessary )

Cheers
