Chips: 2,654 | | | Low end cash game perfect breakdown I'm trying to figure out the perfect breakdown for a cash game for 8 to 10 people using 1, 5 , 25 & 100 dollar chips with 50-100$ buy-in and total chip count of 600 chips. I would like your expert input and experience in making this decision. Thanks....................................Asam2006 |

200-$1
300-$5
100-$25
That is $200 + $1500 + $2500 = $4200, or $420 per person, which should be plenty to cover all kinds of rebuys, too. If you want to get a few $100 chips you could but I doubt they would come into play much. |

$1 - 15 ($15)
$5 - 17 ($85)
----------
32 CHIPS ($100 Buy In) Distribution #2 :
$1 - 20 ($20)
$5 - 16 ($80)
----------
36 CHIPS ($100 Buy In) Total Chips Needed :
$1 - 200 ($200)
$5 - 240 ($1200)
$25 - 160 ($4000)
----------
600 CHIPS ($5400 Value) |

Chips: 18,645 | | | Re: Low end cash game perfect breakdown It all depends on what you're playing. With $50-$100 per person, you don't need lots of large chips ($25 or $100).
If you play a limit hold 'em cash game, then you'll probably use tons of $1s. In a casino, limit games I play in up to $4/$8 blinds are run with racks of $1s and a few $5s.
If you're playing stud or something with lots of betting and antes, you'll also probably want mostly $1s and then $5s.
If you're playing no-limit hold 'em, like $1/$2 blinds and $100 max buy-in, then most of your betting will take place with $5s. When I play this in a casino, most players usually get all $5 chips except for a few $1 chips for blinds. A typical starting stack might be 19 x $5 and 5 x $1 for $100 buy-in. But some people like to have huge stacks of $1s in front of them, so it's personal preference....
I wouldn't buy more than 10-20 of the $25 chips either way. |

600 CHIPS ($5400 Value) | I have Dist. #2 as my $100 buyin. I would go with this 600 chip breakdown though for more flexibility and more $$$ in case your game ever goes crazy. Total Chips Needed :
$1 - 200 ($200)
$5 - 275 ($1375)
$25 - 100 ($2500)
$100 - 25 ($2500)
----------
600 CHIPS ($6575 Value)
I like having some $100 chips so that you can hand out 1 chip for rebuys if the number of chips in play start to get out of hand after multiple rebuys. |

I wouldn't buy more than 10-20 of the $25 chips either way. | Sounds like for a 1-2 no limit HE game I ought to plan on 150 / 400/ 50
for 100$ buy in or even just 200 /400 and no 25's. What do you think? |

Chips: 3,049 | | | Re: Low end cash game perfect breakdown 150-$1
400-$5
50-$25
$150+$2,000+$1,250=$3,400
200-$1
400-$5
$200+$2,000=$2,200
Personally I would buy a small amount of greens to be on the safe side. It will also help in case you need to manage the size of any really big stacks.
I like the first breakdown, 150/400/50, the best out of these. |
