Feedback on 400 chip cash and 600 chip tourney sets
Looking at 1000 chips total:
Cash set 400 chips and $1300 value
80 x $0.25
180 x $1
120 x $5
20 x $25
Full table (10 players) ring games with $20 buy in. Start with 8x$0.25, 13x$1 and 1x$5. This gets all the quarters in play and it's easy enough to make change. Rebuys done with all $1s until all are in play then done with $5s. I would really prefer a $20 chip instead of $25 - but alas Protege has none. $25's will probably be used in the future when the $1/$2 games my kids will play replace the $0.25/$0.50 games I play.
Tournament set 600 chips
130 x T25
210 x T100
160 x T500
80 x T1000
20 x T5000
This allows a 16 person T5000 (or 8 person T10000) starting stacks of 8x25, 13x100, 7x 500 with one rebuy per person done with T1000 chips. There are also just enough extra T500s to color up all the T25s and T100s and enough T5000 to color up all the T500.
I don't usually play tourneys with this high value. I just want to optimize the versatility of a 600 chip tournament set.
Opinions, feedback etc???????

I like the breakdowns. If you don't like the $25 in both the cash and tourney sets then I would use the NCV as your twenty dollar chips. I think they are flashy enough to be noticed.
When you start dealing with cash value chips over $5 I say twenty dollar bills go with any cash set out.
Re: Feedback on 400 chip cash and 600 chip tourney sets
I like gpc's advice on the NVC chip. I have 90 $.25 chips for our cash game.
When there are at least 5 players playing cash ($.25/$.50 blinds/antes) we run out of $.25 chips. The players love to buy and rebuy in for a 20 ($5) stack--they prefer it to other denominations. So another option might be to get 10-20 $.25 chips (in place of the $25 chips).
