| Re: Making a 500 chip low limit cash set We play .25/.50 and .50/1.00 nl ring games and I only need about 100 .25 chips. The raises are usually a buck or more and only the blinds require the small chips and 8 .25 per person is more htan enough, people make quick change between hands if they are out. Even with a .50/1.00 game I only give each person 10-12$1 chips as well.
I just ordered a new cash set and got the following:
100 ncv (for either.25 or .50 depending on what wer'e doing)
140 $1 chips,
140 $5 chips,
20 $20 for rebuys and to keep control of stacks if someone is really building stacks.(a $20 chip is convenient for typical $20 rebuys)
Typical buy in is $20 and eachperson gets (.25/.50 blinds) 8-ncv, 13-$1, and 1-$5 (.50/1.00 blinds) 8-ncv, 11-$1, and 1-$5
When someone rebuys we usually give 4-$5 chips that they make change from the big stacks, we don't add small chips to the table, they aren't needed. When you make change you grab a couple small chips for blinds.
This breakdown gives me plenty of chips for an 8 person ring game and is over $1,250 in chips, we rarely get over $400-$500 on the table.
