Chips: 138 | | | Denom breakdown for 500 chips i'm currently playing with a set of 300 NCV dice chips and have been looking at a significant upgrade
I've been looking to purchase a set of 500 denom pharaohs but was wondering what would be a typical breakdown by denomination
with the pharaohs having $25c, $1, $5, $25, $100, $500 and $1000 denominations. how many chips would typically fall into each?
I'm new to chip buying, but Id like to be able to have all denominations if possible, but if this isnt realistic as far as numbers for a 500 set, tell me
would having 7 denominations be spreading it too thin across 500?
im new to this, so let me know if im approaching this the wrong way
thanks |

100 - 25c
100 - 1
100 - 5
100 - 25
100 - 100
50 - 500
50 - 1000
You can play cash games with the lower denoms, or a tourney with $7500 starting stacks of
8-25
8-100
5-500
4-1000
Then get an acrylic 600ct bird cage carrier and you are all set!
Welcome to the madness. Quote: |

Chips: 47 | | | Re: Denom breakdown for 500 chips With only 500 chips I'd recommend no more than 4 denoms, it depends what you play and number of people and stakes for cash.
If you play cash .25/.50
100 $.25
150 $1
150 $5
80 $25
20 $100
(ok that is 5 denoms) you can play a T200 tourney with that set as well with 10 people

What are you going to play - cash or tourney?
Go with .25, 1, 5, 25
Use .25, 1 and 5 for cash
Use 1, 5, 25 for T200 tourney
100 x .25
150 x 1
150 x 5
100 x 25
500 chips
Or go with 100 x NCV
200 x 1 and 200 x 5

Conclusion
Many people talk about their cash game set and their tournament set. Of course the more chips you have the easier it is to have any type or size of game. Use these guidelines to maximize the flexibility of your chip set. One last thing regarding storage, most chip cases offer storage in groups of 50, while racks offer storage in groups of 20 or 25. Think about the breakdown in multiples of your storage capabilities.
Using the above guidelines, I have found the following to be flexible enough for ring games and tournaments.
300 chip set – 4 colors broken down to (100, 150, 40, 10) or (80, 120, 80, 20)
400 chip set – 4 colors (100, 200, 80, 20)
500 chip set – 4 colors (100, 250, 100, 50) or 5 colors (100, 200, 100, 75, 25)

Chips: 18,645 | | | Re: Denom breakdown for 500 chips But hey, get at least a couple of each denomination. Maybe 5-10 each of the denoms you're not buying in quantity.... |

Chips: 507 | | | Re: Denom breakdown for 500 chips If I were to get a 500 piece set of Pharaohs, I would look at the 25 to 1000 chips (tourney set) because I really like the colours. This can also double up as a cash set using the divide by 100 rule ($25 chip becomes the 25¢ chip). My breakdown would be something like:
150 x $25
200 x $100
100 x $500
50 x $1000
