Chips: 1,309 | | | 5/25/100/500 (1000) options I just figured out I bought *way* too many PNYs. I need to figure out what to keep and sell off the rest.
I'd like to be able do a 10 man tourney with rebuys. How many 5s, 25, 100, and 500s do I need to keep? I also have 20 $1000s if that matters. I haven't determined what T-level to use although I know I'd like to start everyone off with a medium stack of chips (~30 +/- 5). |

Just using the 25s and up. Blinds of 25/25 or 25/50 would be ok for T5000 - T10000.
Here is bare minimum with 35 chip starting stacks:
Say T2000 with 5-25-100-500
10 players = 20,000 in play (plus re-buys)
T5 x 10 = 50 (need 100 chips)
T25 x 10 = 250 (need 100 chips)
T100 x 15 = 1500 (need 150 chips)
Use T500s for rebuys and color ups (need at least 80 chips)
Say T10000 with 25-100-500-1000
10 players = 100,000 in play (plus rebuys)
T25 x 12 = 300 (need 120 chips)
T100 x 22 = 2200 (need 220 chips)
T500 x 15 = 7500 (need 150 chips)
Use T500s and T1000s for rebuys and color up (need 20 T1000s and 10 T500s to cover color ups and 200 T500's for rebuys)
You could use a T5000 chip here to make it easier......

I'm actually too embarassed to say.
EDIT: Look at the member-to-member sales forum...

Thanks Matthew. Looks like T2000 is the way to go. As I think about this though.....you think the guys would mind playing with the $500s in air-tites? |

EDIT: oh boy..is it really as simple as giving everyone starting stacks of 10 $5, 10 $25, 10 $100? lol FURTHER EDIT: Wait, I just reduce the 100 stack to 12 chips from 15, correct? |

Chips: 18,645 | | | Re: 5/25/100/500 (1000) options Ddollevoet runs a great tourney with T$2,000 and the starting stack of 29 chips, as shown below. It works very, very well (except when I get sucked out on!). You can vary the length by adjusting the blind levels, depending on the number of players. Stack is 200 x BB, so lots of early action during the rebuy period.
10 x $5
10 x $25
7 x $100
2 x $500
You can easily support 20 setups (10 players and 10 rebuys) with a moderate set of 700 chips, or even a little less if you want to be frugal:
200 x $5
240 x $25
200 x $100
60 x $500 |

Chips: 1,309 | | | Re: 5/25/100/500 (1000) options Thanks for all of your comments. Do you all think this number of chips will work for a T1500 set-up for a max of 10 players + 1 re-buy?:
150 x $5
150 x $25
140 X $100
60 x $500
30 x $1000
I figure that most people are not going to rebuy during the 10/20, 15/30 rounds, so I don't need to have 200 $5s. Same with the $25s to some extent but there's more rounds that use them. I can squeeze in up to 30 $5, $25, or $100 chips if people see a need for them. $25s maybe? |

Chips: 167 | | | Re: 5/25/100/500 (1000) options I'm actually working on a new set myself with 5/25/100/500 and was leaning towards this:
100x5
120x25
50x100
30x500
300 chips/10-max tourney/T1000
Starting stacks (T1000) would be:
10x5 = 50
10x25 = 250
2 x 100 = 200
1 x 500 = 500
for T1000 total/23 chips per starter
This set would allow for colorups of the 5s to 25s (there would be 2 extra 25s per person) and then colorups of the 25s to 100s (there would be 3 extra 100s per person). If necessary, there would be enough 500s to colorup as well, but I don't expect the tourney to go long enough to need that.
We've been playing with rebuys, but I am leaning towards doing more freezeouts (there have been some rumblings in my game that people would prefer this).
Blind levels:
5/10
10/20
15/30
20/40
25/50 (colorup to 25s)
50/100
75/150
100/200 (colorup to 100s)
200/400
300/600
400/800
etc.
25 minute levels (only because we have a lot of talkers and especially during the first few levels, things are SLOW).
I like the idea of a 300 chip set that can cover this game. It's easier to lug around than a 500 chip set and, since I am on a bit of a budget chip-wise, I can get the nice cermaics I've been eyeing at a price I can afford.
