here's the deal...

client orders 1000 chips for a poker league....at the end of the league they want to break the set into 3...1 400 pc & 2 300 pc...here are the questions I pose...

1) wouldn't it be better to break it into 500, 300, 200..since thy are prizes ..I think 3-5 place at the end of season tourney...

They play T1500 freeze out with 21-24 people

bearing in mind they want to break the set down to 3...what are the best quantities of each denom for them to purchase?

Nope - 300 should be minimum for set

My opinion - they have too many chips to break up nicely. The 10 and 50 are hard to fit in.

So blinds start at 10/20 - why not start with 5/10 - change the 10 chip to a 5 and elimnate the 50 - then we've got something to work with.

This is messed up ut I don;t see many alternatives with the requested denomination.

Do two 300 sets with the 10s,25s and 50's - Qty 100-100-100 in each set, or 75-100-75-50 (adding in 50 100's)

Do the 400 set with 100s, 500s, 1000s, 5000s - Qty - 75-125-125-75

So:
Chips 10,25,50,100,500,1000,5000
Qty 200,200,200,75,125,125,75 (10-25-50 in two 300 sets, and 100-5000 in the 400set) or
Qty 150,200,150,125,125,125,75 (with some 100's in the small sets)

I agree in a minimum of 300 chips per set. Very simply two 300 chip sets of the 3 lower denoms 100-10's, 100-25's and 100-50's in each set and one 400 chip set with 100 each of the higher denominations 100's 500's 1000's and 5000's. Not the ideal arrangement but still playable in small groups.
