If you are thinking about getting some inexpensive chips it is my duty as a member of the faux clay nation to mention the best cheap chips on the planet: the Faux Clays. These are slugless (no metal insert) chips which out perform every chip in their price range. They feel great, stack like champs, and sound fantastic. The best feature though is the low price. These little beauties will cost around 5¢ per chip making them the best value around.

Whether you play cash games or tournaments, an non-denom chip will suit you just fine. If your typical game is 5¢/10¢ NL the red/green/black colour combo will be perfect. You could also use the same chips for a T1000 tournament using a breakdown of 100/150/50.
Cash game: red = 5¢, green = 25¢, black = $1
Tournaments: red = T5, green = T25, black = T100
- starting stacks for up to 8 players:
red (T5) - 10
green (T25) - 18
black (T100) - 5
This will be pushing the limits of your set but it is quite doable.
