Im trying to make my Pharaoh set capable of handling a 20 or even 30 person tourney if need be.

Right now I have
100 - 25
100 - 1 (I dont really use these first 2, I bought them for cash games but dont play those often)
200 - 5
200 - 25
75 - 100
50 - 500
25 - 1000

When playing 10 person or less I like to start with 1500, 20 5's, 20 25's, 4 100's and 1 500.

I also like to play 800-800 rebuy which is usually around 14 people and that is the maximum this set can handle with each person getting 14 25's, 10 5's, and 4 100's and rebuying/adding on at the end of the third blind with a 500 and 3 100's but change making is always needed from the big stacks, which isn't that big of a deal.

To make my set more versitile I was thinking I would add on the following -
100 - 25
50 or 100 - 5
25 or 50 - 100
25 - 500

I usually use the homepokertourny blind structure starting at 5-10 and going from there but sometimes slowing down and doing 20-40, 30-60, 40,80 which keeps the 5's on the table longer.

Any thoughts on this? The 28 in chips we start with for the 800-800 rebuy/add on is the minimum I like to start with. Even with 100 more 25 I probably still wouldnt have enough for 30 people but it would be plenty for 20. Am I going to want more 1000 chips when dealing with 20 people (roughly 30,000 chips in play)?

Base your amount of T5s and T25s on the max number of people and the starting amount of chips. Make sure you have enough T100s and T500s for color ups and rebuys. Make sure you have enough T500s and T1000s to cover your starting chips and rebuys so you finish heads up with T500 and T1000 chips.

Just looking at the amounts (with not alot of anmalysis):

T5 = 200 good
T25 = 200 good
T100 = 75 would move up to 150
T500 = 50 would move up to 100
T100 = 25 good




For your 800/800 if everyone rebought = 22400 in chips in play
Strarting Stacks:
10 T5s x 14 = 140 say 150
14 T25 x 14 = 196 say 200
4 T100s x 14 = 56 say 100 (with the 42 below)
Rebuys:
3 T100s x 14 = 42
1 T500 x 14 = 14

Color ups;
150xT5 + 200xT25 + 100xT100 = T15750
14 T500 already in play = T7000

Really only need 32 more T500s to cover this format.

I guess T5 and T25 at 200 each could be ok still if I did get 75 more T100 and 50 more T500 like you suggested if I was willing to start off with

As for the 800/800 for 20 people I could possibly do the 10 T5 10 T25 5T100 although starting off with just 25 chips isnt optimal but doable I suppose.

If you're willing to play T800 with that starting chipstack (10 x T5, 10 x T25, and 5 x T100) - which seems workable -- then you could support 30 players' starting stacks with:
300 x T5
300 x T25
150 x T100
-----------------------
750 chips total (25 chips/person * 30 players)
For this, you'd need to add 100 x T5 + 100 x T25 + 75 x T100 to your existing set.

So far, this doesn't provide for colorups or rebuys.
For colorups, you already have 50 X T500 = 25,000
The buyin is 30 * 800 = 24,000

So... the 50 T500 chips you already have would be enough to colorup all the chips in the game, as far as tofal value goes. Of course, the chips won't be distributed so evenly, so this wouldn't be very easy. In practice, though, you probably don't need to colorup all the 100's. You could colorup some of them, then re-use those 100's to help colorup the 25's, and so on.

Similarly, you could use the T500 and T1000's for rebuys (making change from players to get the T800).

So rebuys and colorups seem do-able, just a bit akward. You could make your life a bit easier if you bought some extra T100 and T25 to help the rebuy and colorup process.
