Chips: 447 | | | Re: About to get the 600pc Luxury Chips from Pokerstars. Need help with denomination I'm going to have to start playing on P* more often. I didn't realize they had items like that available in for their FPP points. Beats the heck out of the hats and crap from full tilt.
You'll love the chips and your experience with pc.com will be excellent I'm sure. The folks they are great to work with. Very smart of you to start planning before you actually have to order the items. Take your time, think about a graphic you really want and like, and go from there. I pondered my design for about a year before I finally figured out exactly what I wanted, and I'm glad i took the time I did. Looking forward to some pictures a few months down the road. |

Need help with denominations In order to be able to purchase it, you need to have the 42k FPP accumulated (not to hard at some levels) and be a PlatinumStar VIP (which is harder to get IMHO). You probably need to be playing at least 2/4 Limit or 1/2 NL to realistically make this goal or just play a sh*tload of hands during the month.
I believe the specs for a PlatinumStar are 10k hands in a month where the rake was at least certain amount depending on the stakes. I believe these points are called VIP Player Points (VPP) which accumulate differently than Frequent Player Points (FPP) which are what you cash in. You get 1 VPP based on the following rake schedules: NL/PL is $1 ($20 pot), .5/1 Limit or lower is $0.50 ($10 pot), 1/2 Limit is $0.75 ($15 pot), 2/4 Limt and up is $1 ($20 pot) and tourneys/SNG get points based on the admin fee. You can't accumulate more than 1 VPP per hand.
I usually get/renew my SilverStar status (1500 VPP) within the last few days of the month. Once I get close to 35k, I may push one month to get to GoldStar (4k VPP) to get some nice stuff. |

Chips: 20 | | | Re: About to get the 600pc Luxury Chips from Pokerstars. Need help with denomination Attached is a sample of what my chips labels will look like. The idea is that a 'Syndicate' is a seedy underworld type thing. Which I like. If you step to my home game, anything goes . I hope someday to walk to the WSOP with my comrades as 'The Syndicate". Sort of like a Fischman's Crew and the Hinden Mob. The wizard cap is a reference from Pokeroffice tracking software. Which is the icon used to label top players (tight aggressive aggressive players). Equivalent to the green money bag icon in Pokertracker. If you use this software, and you see a player with "Purple Wizard" cap icon labeled by this person, stay away. Sooner or later, this player will take all your chips. The font I used is the Robotech font, since I love the progressive look of the font and am a big fan of the beloved animation. I wanted to keep the label simple so as to not take a way from the beauty of having real clay chips with edge spots. Hence I used as little color as possible without being drab. I may change the shadow on the chip center from red to gray, or take it out entirely. Still undecided. I am really anxious to get this set now.
Let me know what you guys think. |

Have your printed these out actual size?
I'd suggest trying a larger fontsize.

300 x $1
200 x $5
100 x$25
50 x $100
That makes your total sock $8,800. My set is non-denom, so tourney was easy to switch chip values. Make $1 a $100, and the $100 a $500. That gives you plenty for a T-1000 for 24 people and enough to color up at each level. |

50 x $100 | That seems like a lot of $1 chips especially if he's playing games with blinds of 2/5. I wouldn't think you'd need more than 100 - 150 $1 chips depending on the number of players. |

Usually, a place won't spread 2/4 NL because too many little denominations on the table; its just easier to use the $5 chips for the BB. |

Chips: 22 | | | Re: About to get the 600pc Luxury Chips from Pokerstars. Need help with denominations I agree, if it is no limit (or even pot limit), then 300 is way too many $1 chips. Although I would say if I was buying into that game, I would want to start with a minimum of 100 x the big blind. You might not survive the first hand with only $200. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
