Chips: 137 | | | Arg!!! Help please? I've been pondering for days trying to figure out what I need chipwise for my home game because i want to order a nevada jacks set. We have a $20 buyin every friday with about 10-12 people. This it what we have been using for starting chips + values.
_____________
$25 - 10 chips
$50 - 10 chips
$100 - 5 chips
$500 - 4 chips
$1000 - 4 chips
Total = 33 chips worth $7250 w/ blinds going up every 20 mins.
I need help on if I should get 1 500 chip set or 1 500set and 1 300 set ( i would rather get the 2 sets and have 800 chips). I know nevada jacks doesnt have $50 chip but i will use either their $5 chip or $0.50cent chip in its place. Im not sure on how many of each denom I will need, I tried using the chipbreak down calculator, but I can seem to figure it out. Any help will be appreciated. I also want to buy a few of the new $5000 purple NJ chips for color up when it gets deep in the tourny, so please add some of them when ur helping me crunch the chip numbers.
Thanks in advance.

Chips: 34 | | | Re: Arg!!! Help please? what about scraping the $50's all together and adding 8 more $25's and 3 more $100's...you'll still have the same chip value, and with the quick blind rasies having more $100's wouldn't hurt.

2. Rebuys, if yes how many folks rebuy typically?
3. Addons, if yes how much?
Rough guess. |

Rough guess. | 1) Blinds start at $25/$50
2) No rebuys
3) no addons |

Chips: 137 | | | Re: Arg!!! Help please? I can stay with these denoms $25, $100, $500, and $1000. But I would like to add a few of the new NJ $5000 chips. |

Chips: 9,087 | | | Re: Arg!!! Help please? If you wanted to keep things simple I would only buy 25's, 100's and 500's only. Particularly if you are thinking about buy a custom NJ set this is the way to go because you have to buy a min of 100 of any given denomination and you definitely don’t need 100 $1000 chips. Its a complete waste - worst case situation you might want to have 10 $1000's but this is almost pointless so you would be better off just buying a few extra 500 or even 100 and that way you have more chips for more players or rebuys if you play that way. It’s just more versatile to go this way. I also don’t think there is really any reason to have more than 3 denoms on the table at any given time. In rare situations you might need 4 different denominations if you have a person who has a really big stack and someone with a really small stack while the rest of the table is moderate... Typically though you can find a way around this anyway. The other benefit to buying fewer denominations is you provide yourself with the ability to have more players at your game vs. have more chips for the sake of just having more chips. It can be a tough decision when you really like a particular chip but don’t necessarily need it.

Are these numbers fine?
Between the 500 and 1k chips, you'll have a enough chips available (just over 100 in play) to support your entire buy in without a 5k chip but feel free to add some. |
