Chip Totals

Hi, I'm pretty new to CT. I recently bought 2 PSO's and I'd like to expand my collection (I've been lured in)! I was wondering if someone could give me some advice on what chip amounts to get. I currently own 600 NJ Skulls. Here are the breakdowns:

200- $1's
200- $5's
100- $25's
100- $100's

My friends and I usually play small ring games ranging from 6-10 players. We have decided that we want to hold a tourney, using my chips. Besides the fact that I love these chips, I was wondering what amounts of each chip should I get more ($.25, $.50, $1, $5, $25, $100, $500, $1000) for an additional 400-500 chips.

Thanks for the help,
Cameron.

Re: Chip Totals

Personally, I would get 100 of the $100, 100 of the $500, and 100 of the $1000. Of course this depends on how many people play, you may not need that many, buy for a tourney chip collection these dominations work great, plus there easy to put in stacks for BB and raises instead of having to count chip buy chip all the time.

Re: Chip Totals

AceJack,
(I moved your thread to the Home Game Advice/Chip Breakdowns forum)

The set you already have is great for a 10 person tourney if you use T200.
Start the blinds at 1/2
Start each person w/ 15 x $1, 17 x $5, 4 x $25.
You've got enough extra $5 and $25 to colorup the $1 and $5, and you've got plenty of extra $100 to support rebuys.

So if you want to add to your set, you could consider supporting other game structures:
a) more than 10 players?
b) low-stakes cash games?
c) higher T$ tournies?

Re: Chip Totals

Thanks for the feedback. I've also done a few searches and found even more info. I've come to the desicion to get around 250 of the Orange $.50 to be able to have small cash games, and also get the higher denom's for tourneys.
