Help with WSOP replica order please

Hello all...i am planning on buying a 500 set of the replica's, and unfortunately that is about the full amount I can afford, but hoping it will do....I was looking for some opinions on quantity of denominations if anyone cares to help though...My concern is having enough chips of each denomination, and having effecient amounts I guess.

I ran some numbers and have some ideas about what I will want/need, but figured some of the members around here have more experience with this and probably could offer some good advice.

I want to have tournaments with probably no more then 20-24 people, and start each player with 10,000 in chips.....Blinds starting @ 25/50, increasing every 20-30 minutes etc.

The problem is if I do indeed have 24 people, that will not give me enough chips to give everyone 10,000 emulating the starting chip amounts of the wsop (23 chips per player, from the info I gathered).

I dunno, should I think about ordering a couple hundred extra if I can, starting each player with a smaller value of chips, or just not having such a big tourney all of which I dont want to do but looks like I have to find a compromise i guess...oh well

It'll all work out, but any opinions are appreciated....peace-

P.

(I moved your thread to the breakdown forum, I hope you found it OK.)

Here's a pass with WSOP starting stacks:
500 chips, 20 players.
You'd have enough chips to colorup the greens and blacks.

Re: Help with WSOP replica order please

P.S- The denominations I am mainly planning to get are: 25, 100, 500, 1000, 5000.

So, im trying to discern the amounts of each of these chips, with allowing a small amount of the higher denominations just to atleast have them.

I need more though, and its too bad im poor..... I want them all...

Re: Help with WSOP replica order please

Well, the WSOP info I have read says that each player starts with
12 $25
7 $100
2 $500
3 $1000
1 $5000

25 chips worth $10,000

You will likely not need this many denoms in your size game (20-24). Frankly, 500 chips is not enough for 24 people. My suggestion would be

200 x $100 chips
200 x $500 chips
100 x $1,000 chips

Players start with

10 $100 chips
8 $500 chips
5 $1,000 chips

That's 23 chips worth $10,000, but it would only accomodate maximum 20 people. I would then run a blind schedule similar to the one on homepokertourney.com. You can color up the 200 $100 chips with the additional 40 $500 chips. That would be my recommendation. Bear in mind that with three different chips in play, and them being black, lavender, and yellow, that these stacks should look good together.

Re: Help with WSOP replica order please

Thanks for your input...i had different numbers for the starting stacks (not that it makes a big difference) as follows...yours is probably correct, though I have no idea...

8 $25
8 $100
4 $500
2 $1000
1 $5000

The problem is I want all the differing chips, but want an efficient tournament set-up that can accomodate up to 20 players...i think the bottom line is I just need to buy more chips....Maybe I can find someone who wants to add on to their set and I can get an extra 150-200...I definetly dont need 1,000 but need a bit more then 500.

Re: Help with WSOP replica order please

I think you can only buy from BPC in mulitiples of 500. Start buying the 500 that will make it possible to run a 20 player tournament with WSOP starting stacks (which I also believe is 8-8-4-2-1). If you need a few more for a 24 player tournament you will probably find some Chiptalk members willing selling theirs in the Member-to-Member Sales Forum. Note that running with WSOP stacks might be quite uncomfortable in the beginning.

Re: Help with WSOP replica order please

Yea....thats actually part of the problem. Because i can only buy either 500, or 1,000 puts a little spin on things...one too much, one too little, so your advice is sound and what I plan on doing I suppose, that is, try to add to the set down the line hopefully without having to buy 300 more chips....Perhaps someone on this great forum will have the same dilemma (very likely) or want to add to their set and will go in on 1,000 with me and we can break them up...

Not sure what you mean about running with the wsop stacks in the beginning being uncomfortable if you care to elaborate....

That chip calculator is pretty nice n handy btw Captlego...thanks-

P.

I'd say you would need 40 100s to colour up 160 25s, and 40 500s to colour up the 160 + 40 = 200 100s. To be able to do 20 players with 500 you can only colour up the 25s, or you could colour up the 25s and 100s at the same time.

Colouring up the 25s only will leave 340 chips on the table.

Re: Help with WSOP replica order please

If I am reading Capt's program right, it takes 20 T500 to color up the greens, plus some of the blacks. Why not get 20 T1000 instead of the T100? Wouldn't you be able to color up all the green and black then?
