Chips: 5,791 | | | Poker Setup Spreadsheet Just thought I share a spreadsheet I use to setup poker tournaments (payouts, chip counts, blinds, etc) or just figuring how many chips to use for ring or tournaments games.
Enjoy. http://home.comcast.net/~hachkc/tourney_setup.xls |

Chips: 732 | | | Nice sheet. I like the printable tourney sheets. Very clear and straightforward.
Mine's similar but I also added an extention of the 'chips available' for coloring up. Specifically I make sure that you leave enough 25 to color up the 5's that start in play, 100's to color up the 25's (or close to it), etc.
I can't seem to find it right now (maybe on my home computer) but a simple 'Sufficient to color up?' column with an if formula like: =IF(H10>D8,"YES","NO") would do the trick. (this is to confirm that you have enough 25's in reserve to color up all of your 5's.) |

Chips: 493 | | Very nice spreadsheet hachkc. This is invaluable when setting up tournaments and even when deciding on new chip purchases. This will now replace the stacks of post-it notes I have taped all over my computer with the various combinations used over the past year.
GREAT WORK!

Chips: 501 | | That's a nice spreadsheet you have there. The one I have made up calculates the number of chips required for colour ups, but leaves out some of the things you have there. I'm going to have to edit mine, methinks
Of course, my spreadsheet is a bit of a hack job - it's pretty messy, something that grew over time when I was trying to figure out what quantities of chips to buy. I really should make a brand new one taking the useful things from my existing one, and cleaning it up. A bit easier now, since I've mostly settled on a tournament structure to use. For my ASM purchase, I had figured out structures from T5000 all the way up to T25000, or something like that. So I have some extra chips, and some that I don't have enough of (yet)
We're all such geeks for this sort of thing But it's fun to play around with numbers in a spreadsheet, it's a hell of a lot faster. Of course, I also have tons of pieces of paper and post-it notes everywhere with various chip related calculations/blinds/notes/etc...

My standard game is either 5, 25, 100, 500, 2000 or 25, 100, 500, 2000 but my sheet includes chip values that I don't even have or use such as 10 and 50 which sit between the values I use. Plus I won't color up 20x5 to 4x25 instead I'd just give 1x100 which limits the benefit of adding the column. Suffice to say, I was just too lazy to do it but I did add the Remaining$ column as a quick eyeball check to verify this. |

In reality there's always going to be coloring up 5x20 into 1x100 so its always somewhat questionable for putting a check in. I just found it helpful when I was planning to order a custom ASM set. They let you order in any amounts as long as it's only 1 color per 100 chips. I think I determined that my ideal setup was 200/130/120/30/20. It's also fun on the 'give everyone a big stack' nights where you want to use all of your chips. |

Chips: 4,240 | | Maybe my buddies and I are lazy, or maybe we like to have big stacks of chips but we no longer colour up....at all. My chips are denominated with about 300 $25, 200 $100, and 25 $500 so we pretty much leave all the chips in play.

Chips: 20 | | | Nice spreadsheet hachkc! I use something similar, but I may have to replace it with this one. I never color coordinated everything. Neat. |
