Home Game Breakdown (Pharoah NCV)

Hey everyone. I'm looking into purchasing 300 pharoah non-denoms for a cash game set. The reason I want to get the NCV's is so that I can play multiple ring game structures, like nickel/dime/quarter for seperate buy in's. Can anyone give me a good breakdown for 3 different colors amounting to 300 chips that will work well with a 5 dollar through 25 dollar buy in game.

Thanks

That's the tricky part....I wanted to make a set that would be compatible whether the buy in was $5 or $25, with blinds being 1/100 of the buy-in. I know it would be best to do the third chip for rebuy's and to make change since the set is small. Just wondering if anyone else has been able to make a small ring game set that can be used effectively.

Thanks

Maybe try 125/125/50???

I usually do T5000 games with each player starting with 20 25's, 20 200's, and 5 500's - this would work for at least five players with the setup listed above, but you wouldn't have anything left for rebuys and hardly anything left for coloring up.

The beauty of NCV's is that you can make your set work with almost any breakdown because you determine the values you need and you have total flexibility.

Even 100/100/100 could be made to work, but it would probably be best to get more of the two you intend to use most and then just a few of a third chip for color ups or rebuys.

If you are only going with 300 chips you could get by with just two different colors - maybe 150/150 or even 200/100.

I would either go 150/100/50
or if two denoms
200/100

Normally you will want to have a color with more in # than the rest. But i dont guess it matters half as much with ncv's

works 4 us

We play a $5 and $10 game with a $300 buy in; a ring game with up to 8 players. If you change our limits from $ to cents, it would be similar to your limits and requirements. We have played for years with a total of only 300 chips. Until I bought my Pharoahs, our 4 color chip set consisted of 80 chips @ $5, 120 chips @ $10, 80 chips @ $20, and 20 chips @ $50. This set worked great. When we ditched the "dice chips" for the pharoahs, I decided to also standardize our denominations by eliminating the unconventional $10, $20, and $50 chips and using $25 and $100 chips instead. We now have a set which consists of 200 chips @ $5, 80 chips @ $25, and 20 chips @ $100. This 3 color set works even better as there is less need for making change. The total value of our chip sets went from $4,200 to $5,000. Initial buy-ins now consist of 20 $5's and 8 $25's. We usually only use a few $100 chips during the game so towards the end of the night I will color up a few of the big winners to reduce the time it takes to cash out when we are finished. Hope this helps and good luck. P.S. We love the Pharoahs. The feel and sound is the best.
