If you're not "in the know" yet, Encore Las Vegas is now taking reservations. Encore is the highly anticipated new tower at Wynn Las Vegas and according to Wynn will arguably be the nicest resort in the world. I believe it. Wynn Las Vegas management got a private tour two weeks ago and while it's not finished, everyone was in awe. The soft opening will be in December 2008.



BTW - no new poker room is what I was told.

The new Encore tower was one of the first new buildings that we saw upon arriving in Vegas last week. Assumed that it must be tied in with the Wynn, since it had the same design. Very impressive. Seems Vegas is somehow different every time I visit. This is, perhaps, the first time that I've seen sooo much construction going on everywhere at one time.We drove by one building one day and it was practically just the framed structure, and the next day, the mirrored panels had been set and were about three rows from the top! Fast workers they are.

Holy, thats one nice room.
I saw prices at the Wynn... Too spendy for a room when I can
blow all that money on poker. :P Im hoping they have a 10/20
limit game going at the Wynn when Im in Vegas.

I'm going this week, staying at the mirage, which is located in between wynn and bellagio. My dealer buddy out there says those two are the best places for middle limit holdem.

Being the low roller that I am somehow I got put on some list at the Wynn and my wife and I have stayed there free for 3 nights twice.

Somehow I got on some VIP list there and every so often they send me a letter asking if I would like to come and stay free for three nights during a particular week (when Vegas is slower normally.)

I doubt I will have a chance to stay at the Encore but Im sure it will be marvelous considering how nice the regular hotel is.

While Encore looks like a mirror image of Wynn, it is actually going to be a wholey different feel/style. They will be quite different properties from each other, and judging by how well Steve Wynn pulls things off, I believe it is going to be a HUGE success.

BTW, don't know if you all know this, but Mr. Wynn is apparently legally blind and is (or at least was) on the Board of Directors for the Moran Eye Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah. So, with that said, he must have GREAT trust in the team he has working for him. They do a SUPERB job!
