Chips: 2,614 | | | Everything old is new again in Tunica (Grand Casino in Tunica is now Harrah's Tunica. The other Harrah's Tunica closed in 1997. True irony would be served if that Harrah's became Grand Casino...)
From The Poker Atlas:
The Grand is now Harrah’s Tunica
TUNICA, MS: The remodel and the name change is complete in Mississippi. The Grand is now Harrah’s Tunica. Not only have they remodeled the hotel rooms in the main building, they have added new restaurants and new table games. But most importantly, there is a brand new poker room. Built from the ground up this new room takes poker players needs into account at every turn. The fourteen tables are separated from the noise and smoke of the rest of the casino and the staff is ready to bring you more of that great Tunica hospitality. Same games, same staff, but more comfort and even better service. |

Chips: 18,645 | | | Re: Everything old is new again in Tunica I don't think the poker room is all that new, because the picture looks like the same basic room/location from our last trip to the Grand. It was a fairly new setup, so I'd guess it was re-done with the name change in mind though I'm sure it's freshened up somehow. Harrah's/Caesar's tends to have a 1-2 year window in making these brand changes.
It will be interesting to see if they have made major changes to the two big hotels on the property. There was some renovation work going on when we were there.
But yuck on the new chips, though I guess this is the new style we're seeing at places like Planet Hollywood. |
