Seriously, the raises have to be announced rule, why go against EVERY casino's rules? It's just silly..
And no splashing the pot is silly too. Sure, you don't want it happening every time, but you're rarely going to have so many chips in there that it would make a difference. Seems like just another OCD rule that is worthless. | | Sponsored Links | |

When we start out with strict rules I prevent permanent rule breaks and bad behavier in the first place.
We run our tournies with almost no home rules and people love to guess the hands other players, even times when they're not in the pot.
Like with little kids.
Maybe I forgot to say that:
The guy I'll be playing with are my buddies and we're playing tourneys once a week for about 1,5 years now.

2. ***** about the game played.
3. Ask to change the game / stakes / rules (however, suggestions are welcome)

8. Spill food or drink on the table.
8. Show up empty-handed and raid the fridge and or liquor cabinet
9. Badger someone into a political conversation, and then complain about getting ***** slapped.
Lastly:
If you get an invite, this is an invite for you and not all of your buddies. Granted, the more the merrier, but my table isn't a free for all. I host an invite only poker game / event. If you wish to bring a guest, clear it with me in advance. Show up and surprise me with a bunch of your buddies, and you're guaranteed to get dropped from the invite list |

Seems like just another OCD rule that is worthless. | With all due respect, I disagree. Splashing the pot can allow both honest mistakes and cheating to go unnoticed. If somebody in my home game does splash the pot and I can't immediately eyeball the bet as being correct, I stop the action to make sure that the pot is right. Nobody has complained on the few occasions that I've done this. Instead, players help to identify the chips that were tossed into the pot. Peer pressure is enough to stop repeated splashing.
BTW, and not that I've done it or would ever consider doing it, but splashing the pot may be the easiest way to cheat in a card game that I can think of. It requires no skill, and being discovered can easily be dismissed as a mistake. Have I seen it happen? Yes, but not by a regular in my game.
