Hi, I am playing in a Charity Tournament tonight with this format. Give me any tips you feel I should be most aware of going in. Thanks

First time you pick up a big ace or medium pair shove. If you play a pot you have to play it for all your chips. Basically fold or go all in.

20 BB is not much of a starting stack. I thought the rule was when you got down to about 10 BB? Seems I will be there if I get involved and lose a hand anyway. Anything else guys?

You are going to be lost in donkey land...yeah 20X the BB .....Its gonna be a shovefest - Chances are if you pick up a monster you're gonna get some action - good luck - you'll need it!!

So sounds like my best game plan is to just sit back and wait for a monster. Letting everyone else bust each other out.

you won't get a monster in time. after two levels the blinds will be 150/300 and you'll have 1500 chips.

as long as i was over 10bb i'd play pretty tight, open for a normal amount, and shove a good flop. once around/under 10bb, don't play in EP with small pairs or small aces. be very aggressive in late position (cutoff, button, small blind) if it folds to you. if you shove QT and get called by a top 15% hand it's not so bad. you're a 2:1 dog, but if you win you get some chips, you know . also, they need to pick up a hand that can call you. if some ultra-fish on your left will call with any two, well, you just have to deal with that (ps: QT is plenty good in that situation).

if the pot is raised before you, be very selective, even with guys that seem to be opening a lot of pots. shove over the top of limpers with good hands, but look out early on for guys that are limping in with AK "because it never wins."

don't be afraid to go bust. sitting still won't give you a chance to win. if you don't have 3-4x your starting stack when you get to the FT what's the point?
