Chips: 22 | | | Someone asking to run it twice? I am curious what other peoples thoughts are about this. We have a home game .25/.50 NLH every other week. I was up on the night and was in a pot with someone who I had already felted earlier in the night. I flopped middle pair and called the guys all in bet. Someone not in the pot said hey why don't you run it twice. My question is this, "what do you think about someone not in the pot suggesting to run in twice?" We have a friendly/competative home game. |

A minor breach of the etiquette but not serious as they are not in the hand and shouldn't be discussing the play of the hand when they are not involved. It not as serious as discussing what someone might have, the fact that a 58 makes a str8 or something like that. Even if your opponent decides to ask, you can always decline. |

It's like someone yelling - "Hey - highest spade in the hole should get 1/2" or "Why don't you let dueces be wild on the flop". All action was closed - just how would this effect the hand....

A bi-weekly game is different. If I play these people week after week, running it twice just reduces the short term variance. If I am better than the person, the money will still end up in my pocket eventually, but it is a lot nicer to take it gradually than to continually stack someone and give them second thoughts about continuing to come out to the game.
If it was a table of regulars and someone asks, my first response would sure and second I would ask my opponent if that was what they wanted.
I equate it to golf. If a guy sucks or if he is a good player, I am going to give them the same courtesy and offer a gimme on any 2 ft putt regardless. Long term it makes no difference and short term the guy is going to feel a lot better if he is struggling with the short stick. |

My "What difference does it make" was in reference to the people who would be mildly upset with the guy not in the hand mentioning it - not the actual short term effect of running it twice. |
