Re: Someone asking to run it twice?
I can't wait until the Battle in Seattle. I'm gonna offer up running it twice everytime there's an all-in pre=flop showdown in the cash games.....it will be so much fun watching you all get bent out of shape. Should make the usual juiciness even better....

Re: Someone asking to run it twice?
Here's a question:
How, in any way, can a bystander saying "you guys should run it twice" effect your EV? Explain it to me.
If you can't - the who gives a flyin fook what he says. You guys sound like a bunch of girls. Everyone sit there with their hands on their laps and be quiet while we do the flop, turn, and river in a hand where nothing you say can influence the outcome......

Actually a player outside the initiated the question which the other player then asked the guy behind in the hand. Now obviously they could have kept their mouth shut and not said anything but they may have though that was rude after the topic was broached by SOMEONE NOT INVOLVED IN THE HAND.

If they are uncomfortable with saying no to this question, then they would have to be horrible poker players. Isn't the goal of poker to manipulate others into making bad EV decisions based on incomplete information? Running it twice represents a know EV calculation. Heck - it is a given EV situation used to reduce variance. If this is a difficult uncomfortable decision, please - PLEASE sit at my table.

So what if they are horrible poker players. Does this mean its okay for you to put them in this position? And yes the goal is to manipulate others into making bad EV decisions. Is it the goal of folks not involved in a hand to help others manipulate folks into bad EV decisions?
As stated in my 1st post here, its not a rules issue as it doesn't affect the hands outcome but simply a matter of etiquette. What would you think of sitting at a new game and having one of your friends openly and accurately discussing how you play and how good you are and how you like to play certain hands, etc? None of this is against the rules as it doesn't impact an individual hand you are playing but I'm sure you are not thrilled to have this done.

Re: Someone asking to run it twice?
OPenly discussing how a player plays hands is certainly a far cry from some bystander saying "you should run it twice". C'mon now.....

Why?
Where's the rule that says I can't?
I'm not impacting the specifics of hand you are involved in am I?
Are you afraid you won't be able outplay us girls anymore now?
I think the point is its non of your f'ing business. Now take a look at the misawarded pot. In this situation, you are ensuring the rules are followed by making sure the best hand wins.

Re: Someone asking to run it twice?
I don't think I need to explain this.....you're making an argument with outrageous points. Talking openly about how a plyer plays certain hands, etc. effects future hands and is unethical. Saying "you guys should run it twice" effects no hands whatsoever.
This is getting absurd.

dude, there's no rule, and it doesn't effect the EV of the hand under discussion. action is over, period.
i can't wait til the seattle meetup. i'm going to laugh and point at phil every time he shows down a loser, or folds in a big pot. i'm going to do it b/c i can, and b/c there's no rule that says i can't. don't like it? call the waaaambulance. also, every time there's a bet and call on the river, i'm going to demand to see both hands. it's gonna be so awesome!

If you were hanging out with friends and one needed some money, and another friend says, "hey Phill just won $500 in a freeroll, I bet he'll lend it to you," would you care?
Unless you're putting up the money for the second run, it's really none of your business to offer options to people whose money is at stake.

Go nuts big fella - won't effect me whatsoever - I don't let those things effect my play. If you do - maybe you need to examine your game a little closer. I hear TheMightyJim is offering lessons in cash game play - look him up.

Question 1 - I wouldn;'t care - still my choice to lend someone money. I really am pretty secure and don't let these things effect me.
Ruuning it twice has no effect on EV. What's your point?
