Chips: 3,416 | | | Playing suited connectors I usually a SnG tournament player, so most of the time, I'm throwing away my suited connectors under most circumstances. I'd probably play em in late position in a limped pot in the first 2 blind levels, but that's about it. To me, it seems like a risky proposition considering that you usually have to hit AND find an opponent willing to pay you off to make it worthwhile.
However, in cash games, stacks are much deeper and you might not be forced to risk a large portion of your stack after the flop and turn. Plus you can always rebuy.
How do you guys play suited connectors? What adjustment do you make given your position? What if someone in EP or MP raises? Do you ever raise preflop as a semi-bluff?
As a default strategy, I'd probably be willing to play em in MP/LP in a cash game, possibly calling small raises (<5% of my stack) in position if others have already called the raise AND I have a good feel for how the table is playing. I'd still muck em if I'm in EP or opening the pot in MP. | | Sponsored Links | |

I rarely flat call with suited connectors, I sometimes 3 bet with them if I am in a late position and I suspect the raiser is raising with less than premium - say if he's a 30/25/4 for example. |

I will also raise with them as it disguises my hand and will often lead people to believe that my "continuation bet" is a bluff when actually I've flopped a monster Doyle sais suited connectors are the type of hands he's looking for as they always provide an opportunity to really bust someone. |

But I am not as aggro and sometimes I will flat call if there is a raise and call before me and I am in LP. |

But F--- tournies, cash is king.
In cash, I play them from anywhere, raising with them or calling raises from folks I know only raise with AX or pairs. I will play them aggressively against AX folks if the flop comes up low and I connect or have a decent straight/flush draw.
I have to learn to wait 5 seconds before calling continuation bets...TIm said so.

Chips: 2,860 | | | Re: Playing suited connectors 6-max: I'll occasionally limp with suited connectors as low as TJs from early position, and limp or occasionally raise with as low as 89s from the cut-off or button. Otherwise, I fold them. You're too often up against a suited Ace when you make your flush, so they're not much better than unsuited connectors. |

I'ts really great if you do hit and really get next to someone who is always pushing the bet. |
