Chips: 2,900 | | | Ring Games in Las Vegas? I'll be vacationing in Las Vegas next week (12/10-15) and would appreciate suggestions for interesting ring games. My comfort zone is $3-$6 to $6-$12 limit anything, $1-$2 NLHE. I'm particularly interested in anything other than HE. I usually play $5-$10 Omaha 8 at the Mirage, and have heard about a mixed game at the Venetian that I'm looking forward to. I'll be staying at Harrah's.
Almost forgot -- I'll also be checking out the early action (but not playing) at the WPT Doyle Brunson Classic at the Bellagio and hope to snag a few autographs. Wish me luck!
Of course I'll be picking up a few casino chips for my collection. I've noticed that some off-strip casinos have some really nice $0.25 hot-stamped Paulsons (e.g., Palace Station). Does anybody know how difficult it would be to pick up a rack or two in decent condition and suggestions as to how to go about this? |

I used to play exclusively limit, but last time in I was in Vegas (for the SCS) I found the games, while still beatable, much less profitable and populated. IF you are interested, based on what I know of your play, you should easily make a tidy little profit playing 1-2NL.
Anyway, I found the Mirage and MGM best for limit. Supposedly Mirage is best for non-HE games, but my experience is pretty limited... I might ask w19349387508234 (whatever, you know who I mean) - I think he might have some good leads on non-HE games. There was supposedly a mixed game at TI that is good when it gets going, but apparently it's rare that it is played (plus there is an extra drop for jackpots, grumble grumble). I didn't play any limit at the V - but the room was really, really nice.
Check out allvegaspoker.com if you haven't already - they usually have a pretty good run-down on current games.

OSHEA'S!!!!!!!! they have a 1/2NLHE and a 2/5/5 limit both fish tanks and VERY profitable...also the Flamingo is a fish tank as well.... don't sell yourself short...play some of the 1 table satellites for the Doyle classic...there is good money to be had there...the buyin chips you win are easy to turn into cash...or a piece of a player in the ME....best of luck to you! |

It's right off the casino floor so there still is some walkins wanting action along with the regular crowd and a few lower limit games. I recommend them to anyone going out there. |

As for acquiring chips. Best bet is to request a couple of racks of each denom buy-in at the poker room cage. Hang out awhile playing and enjoy yourself and then don't cash out in the poker room. Rather, act like you're taking the racks to the general casino cage for cashing out and thus pocket your chips. That's how I've done it. It's easiest if you're staying at the casino in question obviously and can just take the chips to your room.

I've made good money there (as has my wife) but I've also been sucked out by the dolt that hits his 4 outer on the river after your all-in push with top trips, because, well, because he "was feelin' it" on that hand. But I guess that's bound to happen anywhere. |

Almost every poker room in Vegas will have 1/2 NL. That is about the most popular game there now. |

I also reccommend you spend sometime on allvegaspoker.com they have a nice review of all of the rooms and they also have a summary of all of the tournaments if you get tired of the ring games. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
