Or what you think your greatest strength is in your game.
I believe mine are the following two items, which are (IMO) pretty close hand in hand.
1. My reckless abandon for money and little fear of losing it in a hand.
1a. My ability to mix up my play from any position on the table.
(with each, of course there is their ugly step sister)
I'll talk live home game experiences because I haven't determined, what, if any strengths I have in online play and I don't play in casinos enough for them to merit any consideration. Talking cash games here btw as my live tourney play is generally mediocre at least from a results oriented standpoint.
1. Generally tighter and more disciplined than the folks I play against; rarely will I pay anyone off.
2. Better at reading my opponents and knowing their tendencies than most other folks.
3. Well versed in many different games; jack of all, master of none.
my hand selection is usually superior to those i play against, and that's most likely my biggest edge (and this is sad, b/c preflop play is obv the easiest thing to learn to do well).
this translates to mucho post flop value, since my opponents are still in the process of learning that a hand like AJo is going to cost them their stack once a night if they think an ace high flop is good for them.
Like others have said, I have superior starting hand selection to most of the folks I play with. Most are too loose, a small few are too tight.
One other thing I think I am good at is folding hands. I have no trouble folding a hand like Ace-Jack if an ace hits and I think my opponent has me outkicked. Or if I have two pair and I think my opponent hit a flush. Too often folks hit a piece of the board and are hellbent on playing it through to the end. Sometimes avoiding a big loss is more important than scoring a big win.
