How do you incorporate blinds games into ante games?

If you are playing dealer choice games, how do you incorporate blinds games such as holdem with ante games. It does not seem fair to have everyone ante for one type of game and then only the first two players post blinds for the other type?

Dealer's choice isn't really meant to be fair, it's meant to be fun! We just play like normal... small/big blinds for some games, ante's for others

Full orbit around the table for each game then skip the caller and have the next player call the game.

Re: How do you incorporate blinds games into ante games?

On the few occasions where we've played dealer's choice games that normally have blinds, we skip the blinds and use antes instead. This works just fine for O8 (we don't usually do HE in dealer's choice). The caller needs to announce in advance whether post-flop action rotates around the table or goes to the last person to bet or raise.

That's how we do it. Caller gets a button (more like a marker). When the 'real' button passes him, next player calls the game. Everyone gets the same opportunity to play SB, BBB, and button, and nobody get jipped out of the ante or the blinds.

It was not just the blinds that I was worry about. Also having the button is a big advantage for some games too vs the games such as stud where the action changes according to the cards shown.

If you are gonna let draw games in, short of randomizing where the button goes, not much else you can do but full orbits.

Yep, that's how we did it the one time I reluctantly allowed "dealer's choice"... and then gave up after 3 orbits when it was discovered that the 3 n00bs who demanded we do dealer's choice didn't know any games other than hold'em and 5-card draw/stud with various wild cards...

Whoops! This is when you want to call razz or NL 2-7 Lowball.

This exact point has come up in one group, where a few of us like to call O8, but where the group doesn't want to do a full orbit of any single game. Our response is, well, if you think that the dealer has an advantage at O8, then call O8 when it's your turn.
