Chips: 1,514 | | | Cash game results incorporated into a league format? Okay, so one of the guys in our group has not fared well at all in our League (T5000 regular session, earn points for TOC, yadda, yadda, yadda). BUT in our cash games after the tournament he has done very well....in fact he claims to be a "CASH GAME SPECIALIST" and says so repeatedly which annoys the heck out of the rest of us, but that is his point and it is all done in jest so no big deal!
Now for the past couple weeks he wants to know if the cash game could have an impact for tournament results...I have always told him no up until last night when I told him I would ask you guys to get your opinions.
So what do you think? How could a cash game be incorporated into a League Standing/Tournament Results?
Award Points?
Take away points?
Re-buys count against you?
Busting players earns you points?
Any thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated! |

Let him stay at the bottom of the league. It sounds like he's done well enough in the cash games to make up for it anyway. He can clean house at the cash game after the TOC too. |

Also thanks to the rest of you...I kinda knew deep down that they shouldn't be mixed, but constant talk softened me....next week when he brings it up I will tell him to cram it. Nicely of course...."cram it in your cram hole, please" |

Also, I wouldn't want someone tracking my winnings or losses for me in a cash game.
Apparently dominating at the cash is not enough for him. Do you ever hold just cash game evenings? |

And while it is pretty easy to track tournament results (1st, 2nd, 29th), tracking cash game results would be harder. Your friend is just going to have to be the unofficial CASH GAME SPECIALIST. Good thing for him there's not a good way to prove that. |

As hachkc said, the idea of keeping track of winnings/losses in a cash game (difficult as that may be) would definitely rub people the wrong way, not to mention that it could be bad for business. A lot of people don't want to know how much they're losing. It's actually in your friend's best interest to keep quiet about his cash game success. |

Chips: 1,514 | | | Re: Cash game results incorporated into a league format? More good points guys, hachkc our Thursday night league started as always tournies. We did that for 9-10 months, then we have spent the last year strictly as cash games. I only brought the idea of a tour/league/move locations all tournaments with cash games to follow only as a change of pace. It has been an excellent 10 weeks, but I am looking forward to going back to straight cash games! |
