Chips: 1,037 | | | Running Hands Twice I've seen this a few times while watching High Stakes Poker on TV. Do any of you guys do it in your home games? If not, why? If so, is it acceptable to do it often as long as the players involved agree to it? |

I've done it a couple of time. I got one guy to do it when he was a 2 - 1 favorite. lol. I still lost, but it was funny. |

It doesn't really change anything -- it just lowers your overall variance for the game. Sure, maybe you'll end up chopping a pot you would have won, but then again, you might end up chopping a pot that you would have lost when the guy gets lucky on the turn or river. |

On HSP, usually the guy who says you want to run it twice is way behind, so it seems like the other guy would know he is in a good spot to win and would want to run it once and not let the gut off the hook. The again I have never had $100,000 riding on the outcome of the cards |

I don't have an issue with it as a host as long as it's a once in a while thing and doesn't go against the grain and disrupt the integrity and general interest in the game for all players at the table. |

*EDIT* Okay this may have been bad form, but I was reading this thread while I was on a break from my class and just as I started to get into it he ends the break!!! Anyways....
I have tried to get my guys to give this a shot just once, but they never want to take it. At times I have been way ahead, and other times way behind, and even after showing them just what would have happened they still don't want to try it. They never really know why they just don't....which I might add is the same response I get when I mention rebuy tournaments!!!
Me: "Lets try a rebuy tournament next week."
Them in Unison: "No."
Me: "Why not?"
Random Player: "I don't know, lets just play like we always do."
Me: "Ugh. Nevermind."

Oddly enough, the couple of people who seem to most often propose running it twice are the ultra-tight-conservative guys that get their money in with the best hand and then offer to run it twice as a sort of insurance against bad-beats. I usually only think about running it twice when I'm drawing to a one or two outer... and, go figure, people usually refuse my offer. |
