| Shuffles Card Room at Ebro Greyhound Park Review Shuffles Card Room at Ebro Greyhound Park Location: 6558 Dog Track Rd, Ebro, FL MAP Games offered: Texas Hold'em, 7 Card Stud, Omaha Hi-Lo Split, Crazy Pineapple Number of tables: 22 Member Review by: WolfPack
When I first decided to go to Shuffles I wasn’t expecting much. I mean after all, we are talking about a small card room at a greyhound track, right? Well, I was pleasantly surprised. In fact, I have been in casinos with worse poker rooms than this. PROS
-Nice atmosphere
-Lots of fish
-variety of cash games and tournaments
-variety of games CONS
-Only 1/2 limit no higher stakes
-Not open 24 hours Games/stakes available Shuffles offers most poker games as cash games.
Cash Games - Most of the tables are running a $1/$2 blind limit game with a $2 betting limit and max 3 raises per round, they do however allow straddle bets. On Friday and Saturday the room was hopping, and I had about a 45 minute wait to get a seat, but on the weekdays (Tuesday and Wednesday, they are only open Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday) I had virtually no wait. On the weekdays the only game running was the Limit Hold ‘em, but if you could get enough players (10) they would start any other game (Omaha, Stud, etc.) for you. On the weekends they had a Stud table and Omaha table running with the rest Limit Hold ‘em.
Tournaments – No Limit Hold ‘em When no larger tournament is scheduled Shuffles runs 10 person sit n go’s, they have a sign up sheet at the pit boss station and when they have 10 players and an empty table in the tournament side of the room they start, the buy-in is $45
You can go HERE for their other tournament schedules. Decor and atmosphereThe poker room was very clean and open, the tables weren’t too big, but roomy enough. No smoking of course.
The tables are divided into two sections. As you enter the chip cage is just off to your right, and on the right side of the room sit 14 of 22 tables, these are used for cash games. The pit boss station is just across the isle to the left. Here there is a white board for game sign ups.
Just past the station on the left side of the room are 8 tables set up where 10 person sit n go’s, and other tournaments are run. The tables are nice newer tables with internal automatic card shufflers. Quality of opponentsThere were a ton of fish there, and even at the low limits I made good profit. It was normal to have 2-4 people chasing to the river on about every hand on obvious draws. Playing tight aggressive worked well here, even if you hit a big hand you had fish drawing to a weaker hand calling a raise. ChipsThe cash game chips are Paulsons (pictured below) and the tournament chips are labeled 11.5 gram suited ( every thing else is so nice this surprised me), and the cards used are Copag casinos. Pics of their cash game Paulsons: Additional perksNo comps to speak of, however they did have free ALL IN magazines when I was there. Reviewers Comments I liked the poker room and the easy money, I am looking forward to getting back to the panhandle so I can go back. Park Images
