Winter

Ugh, winter has finally arrived here in the great white north! Temperature as I'm typing is -38 celcius, with the windchill we're looking at -53 celcius (-36.4F/-63.4F for you Americans)! We had a very slow start to the winter, with nice conditions until this week. The beautiful summer days spent on the golf course seem like a very distant memory right now:(
Have not been buying many poker chips lately, and successfully sold a bunch of extras that I wasn't using. It's not fun seeing chips go, but the cash that came in was welcome after a very busy couple of months of buying. There has been so much chip turnover in the last year for me, but I'm actually starting to find a little contentment for what I have. I keep telling myself that I should sell one of my sets, but I just can't part with any of them it seems. I've been really lucky to own some great chips, and my current lineup is almost perfect!
Online poker faded into the background during the summer months, and lately I've been putting in a little more time at the virtual felt. Still not really getting any volume, and I hope to get some more hands in the coming months. Seems like it's hard to get back into a schedule of playing after not playing much in a few months. I have been enjoying it more lately, so that's a good sign.
After being a renter ever since leaving home, I am close to buying a new house! It could be finalized before Christmas (which would be awesome), but that might be cutting it a little fine. Odds are I will be moving in at the end of the month if all goes as planned. I'm very excited about finally owning my own home, after being involved in the construction of so many in the last 7.5 years. It's not a dream home, but a nice 1204 sqft house. I'm actually going to finally have room for my poker table, and hope to be hosting a few two table tourney's this winter.
Anyway, not sure if anyone actually reads these blogs, but if you made it this far, thanks for reading. Also, Merry Christmas!:)
