I was listening to NPR yesterday and heard a speaker suggest that the terminally ill don't think in terms of dying. They are living and then they die, but the in between dying is really something that others experience. Not sure how true that is, but I'm wondering now whether animals know they're dying. My dog Rusty is dying and that breaks my heart.

Ugh, winter has finally arrived here in the great white north! Temperature as I'm typing is -38 celcius, with the windchill we're looking at -53 celcius (-36.4F/-63.4F for you Americans)! We had a very slow start to the winter, with nice conditions until this week. The beautiful summer days spent on the golf course seem like a very distant memory right now:(

Has it ever been a strange year so far. Mostly work, work, work..leaving very little time for much else. I hadn't been all that active here on CT, mostly lurking and posting from time to time. Then things changed for me.

As most of you know, I've been seperated since early July and thought I was headed for a divorce (until recently). Although we're still seperated and living apart, my wife and I continue to try and change our relationship for the better so we'll see...

Like probably all of you (as members of this forum) I read a lot of poker books. I read a lot of stuff online, too. I am forever grateful to the likes of Sklansky, Harrington, Gordon, and Miller for some great material to work with. Online has advantages, too. If you have a specific question you can get someone to give you feedback tailored to your specific situation. Of course, not all advice is worthwhile.
