A while back I think that there was an issue with fraud. There is one person who is legit, but someone else managed to put up a false auction for them. I don't remember all of the details, but I remember there being a thread on here somewhere. I think the thread was called "he's back." and if I had to guess, it was in the auctioin link area.

Anyway there may be a chance that this auction isn't legit.

Well I just looked for that original thread and noticed that it was started by you Scottoc, so I guess my last post was nothing new to you!

Nevermind

I probobly spend too much time cruising through auctions. Just trying too point out when something seems really weird. "Wow. 4 different people have the exact same 2,500pc real Vineyard set!!!"

a bit curious that only 100 $500 chips were made, yet 4 different people have 40 of them...

What happens is, some scammer hijacks a legitimate seller's account by figuring out his apparently weak password and then using his good rep, posts this scam auction. Notice it implores you to contact him via email and not via the contact seller option. Whenever I see one of these, I immediately use the contact seller option to tell him he's been hijacked (as I just did with this one).

Well I was looking at this auction also. Well sort of. I was looking at it 2 days ago when it was being auctioned by someone else. I kept the link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ory=63760&rd=1

I contacted him by email, and we exchanged a few back and forths. I have offered to meet in person for an exchange, we shall see. well, I doubt we ever will.

See what it says now about being ended because of an error in the listing. That's what typically happens when the real owner of the acocunt finds out it was hijacked. I'd be VERY careful about meeting in person! He knows you'll have $$ with you, but you don't know what he'll have with him.

This is a BOGUS auction.

He was not the one who originally bought the chips, and the Carrier was put together by a plastic maker who I traded for Vineyard chips. There is only ONE of those carriers in existance and I know who has it, and its not this guy.
