Laugh - the funny part is I was the 127.50 bidder but I decided that I didn't really want them. Just got my 130 bid beaten so I'm off the hook. I hope the person who gets them isn't a forum member since I effectively just ran the price up $20.
I bid $156 and change and lost by $2.50. Wonder how much high bidder actually bid. Thought it would make nice little cash game set and I want a set of Chipco's. Was a good deal at less than $.50 a chip.
Heh, I was expecting a late rush but once I was done at $130 I didn't look for them. These would have worked nearly perfectly for our current home game where we play 1/2 all the time. I was already looking around the web for $0.50 Chipco chips that might fit in to add for the blinds. Would even make it to 2/4 but probably not 3/6 on a big table.
Now that I don't have to put up the money for them and know that others were watching/bidding for these I do like the chip art a lot. It's a nice simple theme but the 'not negotiable except at sea' is a great line to put on a chip. I might have to steal that and make a similar cruise theme but with a better ship. It's also cool how the edge spots get smaller from the $1 to $5 to $25. Good work on these. I was also pretty concerned about the quality/wear on the chip. If a lurking Chiptalk member one the auction post your pics!
I'm still considering putting together a chipco set of chips where I go to Vegas and get ~10 of every white Chipco I can find to cover the 200 or so white chips I want for a set. My buddy picked up a chip from 20+ casinos in Vegas and I think it would be cool to have a bunch of mixed white chips for the $1's and then a design for the other denominations.
If I'm going to pay $1/chip then $0.50 looks really good.
