Re: He's back

It's pretty obvious that he isn't even running the auction through eBay but rather through his throw-away e-mail address. I wonder why e-Bay lets him misuse their resources and circumvent their fees?

Someone definitely hijacked that guy's account. In his other auctions he says he only accepts paypal, but in this one he says he doesn't accept it under any circumstances lol. I sent the real account owner a question and told him he's been hijacked.

I'm not sure how this is hijacking his account. The most probable reality is that his images were lifted and are being used in another fraudulent auction.

Look at the other items he has for sale and what he says about payment, shipping etc. Totally contradicts what this (now closed!) auction said. Someone hijacked his account because he had decent feedback and used it to post this fraudulent auction. They emphasize not to use the 'ask seller a question' link because he supposedly won't get the message and to email him directly at the stated address. This is another HUGE red flag that someone's ebay login has been hijacked. The payment by wire transfer only is an even bigger red flag. All indications point to an unsuspecting user getting his account hijacked in order to setup a fraudulent auction and then leave the poor unsuspecting legitimate ebayer holding the bag.

The auction was ended early shortly after I notified the real account owner by using the 'ask seller a question' option which goes to the owner's registered address. All his other auctions are still running though, so I am certain this is exactly what happened.

I realize that I should have told the guy to change his password too! Well hopefully he figured that part out on his own.

Now lets see how long it takes for the scammer to hijack another account and post these again. Anyone want to start a pool?

"Item may be removed off eBay if I sell it prior to auction end and I reserve the right to do so."

You can only "reserve rights" that you already have. I'm going to try that sometime --

"I reserve the right to charge you an extra $1999 if I feel like it."

Yeah, translation: I am not the real owner of this account and will make the deal off ebay and have you wire the money along with any other suckers I get on the hook so as not to raise suspicions of the real owner of this account who would suddenly be hit with a huge final sale fee if I were to actually let this phony auction go to completion.

Or something to that effect
