Chips: 1,861 | | | Savvy ebayers know to always add up total bid and shipping.
Savvy ebayers know that if the item "sells" for less they don't pay as much in ebay fee.
Underhanded? Yes. I don't think they are trying to cheat the bidder though, they are cheating ebay.

They are just playing the game like the rest of the people selling stuff for 99 cents with $99 shipping & handling. I still it slimy, particularly when they put the $59.95 in 6 point text at the bottom of the auction UNDER the 14 point foreign shipping fees. Why hide it if you're not trying to fool someone?

Chips: 9 | | | While I agree that high shipping fees are ruining ebay I would hardly consider the shipping fee in this auction "hidden". It's right on the main page. As another poster pointed out, you should take the total price (bid + shipping) in to effect when using ebay. Also, search the completed auctions to see what similar items have sold for. |

Chips: 9 | | Now if you really want to see a ridiculous AND shady auction look here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=6740530473
These cards go for $50 or less so his price is completely outrageous. What's worse though is the shipping. Ground shipping is FREE but insurance (which he makes mandatory) is $19
I even emailed him but he never got back to me. Oh well it's buyer beware as they say. |

This was just something I happened across on ebay and couldn't believe it. If I was going to get one, it would be from a supporter of this board.

Chips: 1,728 | | | Trademark does a lot of eBay auctions. I'm more inclined to think that this is just a screwup where numbers got transposed than to subscribe to the conspiracy theory approach. The other conflicting numbers for non-US shipping would certainly seem to indicate that the shipping charge is incorrect. I don't suppose anyone bothered to contact the seller? |

Anyway, I understand your point. Thanks for looking out for the group. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
