This is a decent eBay seller, based on what I've seen over many months. He's got a few of his facts wrong, but I think he's trying to accurately represent these chips based on what he was told.

IMO they are Bud Jones chips, though you can't tell for sure without handling them. BJ still makes this mold as inexpensive roulette chips, available with white color and/or hot-stamping for other purposes if desired. Here's a pic from the GPI web site:

If these are the same chips, they have a pretty nice feel, though a little light. They stick & stack wonderfully.

Are you talking about the auction where the seller broke one of his yellow chips in half? Those were real too. He had corrected his auction to state that they were Bud Jones chips, not Paulson.

That is probably one of the easiest ones where one might mistake a Chinese import for the real Bud Jones. Worse yet even some of the colors on the Chinese chips are pretty close. Even worse yet, one of our local card clubs seems to have some of each of those chips, some BJs, and some Chinese imports, all unmarked. I think they use them in one of the Asian card games as some sort of a marker, not a value chip, but it's really wierd to see the imports in a gaming establishment.

It's a shame that this design was stolen. I can't imagine playing with these chips without thinking of it as a cheap 11.5g design.

That set didn't get any bids at $199. Now it's been relisted starting at $149. This is a great price for 550 super-feeling, really playable, Bud Jones chips from a real casino ... if you like the design.

If anyone has been watching GSN's Poker Royale Celebs vs. Pros, you'll notice that they are using these exact chips. (Though all Blue.) At first I thought it was peculiar that they seemed to using 11.5 gram chips, but they sounded like Bud Jones. Now the mystery is solved. It is too bad that you can't use these without being reminded of the plastic metal-inserted junk chips!
