712 vintage chips, strange mold

I don't know quite what to make of these chips. They aren't listed in the chip guide for the Washington state Royal casino - maybe an illegal room somewhere else? If they go cheap enough, I might be tempted but I have been a bad boy and really shouldn't buy another chip for a while.

Anyone have more information about these?

Re: 712 vintage chips, strange mold

Those Royal chips are listed in the Chip Guide and the Chip Rack as a casino in Henderson, Nevada, but that is disputed because they mold is so old and the Henderson casino opened in 1960. The chain mold was used in the 30's and 40's, I believe. I have to check my notes at work to see who disputed it, but it was probably discussed on the Chipboard.

Oops its not the chain mold, but the zig zag mold. Still an old mold. I would think the ending price will be pretty high.

Yeah, that same mold was used in a lot of casinos in the 40s and 50s (maybe even earlier). The original Eldorado Club (Binion owned this waaaaaaay back) used zig-zag mold chips. Very few of those exist. These will be EXPENSIVE.
