He must be talking about those ugly cheapo-Paulsons we're buying from Jim. Those sets where we don't have to scrape off cancellation stamps or sort out cracked chips ...

You can remove the cancellation stamps pretty easily with regular rubbing alcohol or acetone as I recall. I had some 50c chips way back when and did this.

Removing cracks slightly harder. YMMV.

These were such a pain in the butt to clean!!! I did 700 of them before I found out about the rubbing alcohol and even with that it was eaiser but still a pain. The $5's were not to bad to clean but the rest sucked. I even broke a couple chips where they were cracked from scrubing to hard. I would love to get some $.50's but don't ever want to clean another one of these chips. I also would imagine the hot stamps would come off with the cleaning. All that said I still put a bid in on these

Oh and the $100's might be my favorite $100's
