ebay (not mine) - Four Queens rack of $1 - FINISHED

These finished on ebay today. I would love to have snagged them but couldn't justify and suspected they'd be out of my price range. Boy was I right!

Anyway, the reason for this post: If anyone on CT grabbed them I'd love to see some pron when you get them.

I had these in my watching. Holy moly, they went for quite a bit. They are pretties.

I have been collecting these beauties for years, and finally scored my second rack! -- even though the first rack was completed only two weeks ago, pieced together with either singles or a few chips at a time (largest lot was 20 chips). I was stunned when I saw these show up on eBay last week, and from a reputable seller to boot (big plus).

I thought I had the auction sniped for ~$100 less than the final amount until another bid popped in around 3 seconds to go, but I was willing to go much higher than the final bid amount. My max bid was stratospheric; no way I was letting these get past me. Overall, the final bid is about what the rest of the chips I've collected have cost, too.

This pickup not only completes my $1 quest, but pretty much finishes my old-school mixed-casino cash set (all with hub shaped inlays, my favs). It's gonna be one pretty set, and pr0n will finally be posted once I figure out how to use that stupid @#$% digital camera at work....

I've been patiently waiting to finish the set before I even announced that I was building it. Only a couple of folks here even know what chips are in it, so I planned to run some type of contest to guess the contents - I figured it would probably be for my 5000th post. Looks like it may need to be a bit earlier.

Nice score, man. Those are damn sweet. I can completely understand what you went through when you found these in a decent quantity. No more piecing together 1...2...maybe 5 at a time. Congrats!!

Excellent pickup, Dave! I saw those over the weekend when they were in the low $100's and almost threw in a WTF bid. I'm so happy that they went to a good home and am looking forward to seeing your set. Should be amazing!

nice grab BG, buyin one chip at a time drives me nuts but sometime you have to do it, spendin the $$ for that rack was worth it...i had em in my sights..lets see that pron!!

I was also watching these and slightly surprised by the price but completely understand that when you have been hunting for something paying a premium isn't a big deal. Congrats on the score! I can't wait to see the set, I have wanted to do an all hub shaped set for a long time now as well but Jim keeps putting to many other sets in the way of some of my other projects.
