I really like that case, but it would be better without the attached plaque with the silly cliche'.

Pretty reasonable price, imo. You probably won't find them any cheaper anywhere else, if at all....

The chips are $1.34 each, new from Sidepot, in your choice of denominations/breakdown. He's basically asking retail, and you can't send them back if the inlays are screwed up or there are ghost mold issues.

Re: CL (not mine): 500 Protege Chips and Case
I'm a big fan of the Protege's. This is a nice set but I think he's looking at about $450 at most. I sold a similar set of about 550 chips and I think I got something like 85c / chip.
Edit: That's without the case. Not sure what it is worth. Nice but if it is from the Bombay co it was probably overpriced too:> I'm also a fan of their stuff but it looks like higher quality than it really is.

Have you talked with Stephan to see if he actually has the chips (all denoms) in stock? And if you're thinking about having BCC actually make more, that's almost laughable -- you'll be lucky to get them by the end of 2013, if at all.

Wish I had seen that set--I am building a set myself.

Re: CL (not mine): 500 Protege Chips and Case
It was last October. I went back and checked and it was 527 chips for $450 shipped.
I still have my non-denoms though. They are keepers:>
