My guess is they generally printed the "of 500" on each of the 500 chips as part of the original artwork/inlay and put the "072" on individually afterwards. That way they didn't need to change the inlay 500 times.

The chip looks identical to the one I have. (different number of course) The chip is not what bothers me about this auction. The chip itself is not worth 50 bucks, and I really doubt the claims of the seller. My guess is Doyle Brunson has never even seen that chip. The chip is part of a three chip set put out bu the Rio to commemorate the WSOP event. If I was not at work I would post a pick of my set of three.
Like the above post states, the chip is the only legit thing in the auction. Everything else is BS. Including the shoe string used as the bolo tie. The seller claims it is an "entry neck tie..." to the WSOP. What the hell is an entry neck tie?
Anyway. Good post, the auction was a good read!

Never heard of an entry neck tie? lol
It takes place of the seat card. "What color neck tie you got there pardner?"
Just by looking at the picture it looks like something any dude can make. A common picture of AA"s and cards.. Well even if it was real and all, don't think it worth that 50$ go get something else with your 50$.
