Wow... these sound like they could be legit. I mean, I can't imagine what would motivate someone to have a set like these made in the 90's-00's. And given that TR Kings made 3 years ago go for > $2/chip these days, I'm figuring these would go for more like $5/chip.
Does anyone care to contact Dennis (former owner/operator of TR King) to confirm their origins?
2 questions if Fowler had the set made for him. Why does this guy have it?
Well...Hals wiki entry states he has had health issues for awhile...and after almost 30 years I can see someone in their elder years not needing to hold onto this set. Hal probably sees this set the way I do about things...if you're not using them then move them to someone who will. His health is probably the reason why another person either owns them or is a proxy seller on Hals behalf.
I understand these are personal, but that can get old after 30 years. They seem more special to us viewing them for the first time. Hell even the buyer of these will likely not see as much sparkle in them after a month.
Sweet, I am the high bidder. But the reserve hasn't been met. My max bid is at $401 right now.
I love these chips, but I don't think I will be going any higher.
