C ya | Not to start a flame-fest here, but had I known that you would turn around and sell it for $65 shipped from France, I would never have given it to you. As I see it, you made $65 on the deal, and if he sells it for his minimum bid, he will make $35 on the deal (both cases exclusive of transaction costs, of course). Personally I think he will be lucky to realise the minimum bid price (unless he cut it in half and slapped it on a collector card-- go figure), but if anyone should be mad here, it should be me.
Regardless, I gave it to you as a gift as a fellow Bond collector (or so I thought), and despite the fact that it was one of the last that I have, and despite the fact that the first thing you did after receiving it was complain about the off-center inlay (on one side anyway), I can't complain that you turned around and tried to sell it less than a month later. Why? Because I gave it to you. When ownership was transferred, I relinquished all rights I had to it. Sure I had hoped that you would appreciate it as part of your collection, but I can't require you to do so.
Similarly in your case, bichettereds didn't force you to sell it-- you accepted a price you thought was fair at the time. Once ownership was transferred to him, you relinquished all claims on what he did with it subsequently. If he thinks that he can turn around and sell it for a profit and attempts to do so, not only do you have no just cause to mourn, but it is hypocritical for you to do so.
Of course, all this is my not-so-humble opinion, so I will now step down off my soap box.
[/rant]
Whew! Now that I got that off my chest, I hope we can all move past this and still be friends-- all of us.
Aw, group hug!

Chips: 56 | | | Re: $10 JB prop chip! $1 Gulfports Wow. Didnt mean to piss anyone off.
As I said, I dont really want to sell it, but if I can get $100.... I gotta take a shot. Hense, the starting bid. I dont expect to sell it to any chiptalk.net member because I believe bjjensen still sells them for less. But to be honest, it wouldnt surprise me if I got a bid being there isnt many offered up for sale. I never promised anyone the chip wouldnt be resold for profit. If it were a gift however, I would feel bad about selling it but it wasnt given to me, I bought it. |

I'm really not pissed off; I just got a little pissed off that Damien got pissed off, if that makes any sense.
In any case, best of luck with your auction. It is yours, and you are free to do with it as you will. If I were looking to increase my collection and could get an entire rack for selling one chip, I would do it. In fact, that's precisely the reason I sold my Vineyards. I knew their day had come and passed in terms of price appreciation, and with the proceeds I was able to finance all of my Casino Royale chips and buy my wife an iPod (you wouldn't believe how much mileage and good will that purchase got me, since I had purchased it with chip proceeds ). In any case, I had acquired the Vineyards on a 1:1 swap for original JBs that I had purchased for $0.60 each (although several years earlier). I didn't feel bad that I had sold them for a tidy profit; they were mine to do with as I please, and such is the beauty of capitalism.
On a personal note, I hope your chip sells for the minimum bid amount and more-- it's certainly worth it in terms of what the half-chips-on-cards have been getting, and it makes me feel better about the couple that I will hang on my Christmas tree in a few weeks.
No hard feelings, and I apologise for the thread jack.

Chips: 56 | | | Re: $10 JB prop chip! $1 Gulfports no need to apologize. I totally understand why you would be upset. It obviously wouldnt make sense for you to be upset if I were to sell this chip. If anything, it would just give you reason to up the asking price for the ones you still have if you decided to sell them. |

2. You are correct, I am trying to sell it to make money, but...
3. How exactly are you being generous by selling a chip for slightly less then what I could have purchased it for from the guy that gave it to you as a gift.
I dont mean to instigate things, but you are the one that has made money off someone elses generosity. |
