I just won two auctions from this guy lacucina1
32.00 + $9 shipping + 7.5 tax
32.03 + $9 shipping + 7.5 tax
tax + no shipping conbination.
What is your opinion about these practices?
Well all of those things are clearly listed in the auction, so it shouldn't be a surprise. I don't see anything underhanded about it. I would ask to combine shipping though and cite that a flat rate priority mail box costs about $9 for any weight.

The tax charge means it is a legit/registered business that was set up in CA. By law anything they sell/ship to CA will require tax to be charged. I had to do this for my biz when i was on ebay, but I set mine up in NJ so the tax was lower (so were the amount of bidders from that state for some reason )
I am guessing if you ask for combined shipping you will get it - the seller probably just forgot to mention it was an option (or didnt think about it). then again it is fairly common practice for sellers to inflate shipping charges to cover ebay & paypal fees
if he says no, then tell him to ship one to one address, the other to another one to cost him more money
I think he got me this time. When I request a total for my itmes it reads on paypal request: "you can not combine shipping on these items"
I have to be more careful next time.
I won 2 auctions about a month ago from this guy and recieved a discount on the combined shipping. It ended up being about $3 less than if I had them shipped seperately. It was stated that I would be charged the sales tax, but only the shipping and winning bid were listed on my paypal statement when I made the payment. Shipping was a tad high ($15 for 100 chips), but it was completely across country (CA to NY). The shipping was quick, and positive feedback was left, as I felt he deserved. I'm sure if you contact him he will help you out somehow, even if its only a discount on the shipping of the second item. Hope that helps!!
