Actually the rare part is finding a $1000 with such a low serial number. I sold the 0002 chip for $127 on ebay. When was the last time you saw a CP $1000 with a serial no. of less than 1000 ?

Chips: 65 | | | Re: Rare $1000 Crystal Park auction, w/low serial #......So beautiful!!!! Between the two variants of edge spots, I've got
40 of them, 6 of them under 0100. I've got even
more of the $500s.
I wouldn't bother getting worked up over a serial
number unless it was less then 0003, or if I was
trying to match up a 4/5 chip set.
It's a nice chip, but the fact that it's 0022 is meaningless.
Cheers,

Chips: 1,113 | | | Re: Rare $1000 Crystal Park auction, w/low serial #......So beautiful!!!! so you're saying if you had a choice between serial no. 0022 and serial no. 1570 it wouldn't matter which one you obtained if the price was the same ?
There are plenty of Crystal Park experts out here...may be some could chime in here with their opinion.
i believe there is another CP thousand on ebay right now with a high serial no. I feel my chip will bring double what the other one will bring. I could be wrong, but I am wrong all the time so that is nothing new.

Chips: 65 | | | Re: Rare $1000 Crystal Park auction, w/low serial #......So beautiful!!!! I'd only be interested in the serial number if it
was extremely low (1-3) or extremely high (1999...),
(the end of the chip run is just as valuable as the start),
or if I was trying to match chips.
To me the 0022 is no more valuable then the 1570
assuming same condition.
If it was a set of 5 chips or more with consecutive
numbers you might get an extra couple bucks from
me but nothing excessive.
They'll both sell for between $22-25 on ebay as singles,
and that's only because collectors looking to complete a
sample set are willing to pay a bit more to get the one
chip they need.

Chips: 65 | | | Re: Rare $1000 Crystal Park auction, w/low serial #......So beautiful!!!! Two consecutive chips again would not be a big
deal to me, I'd pretty much treat them as simply
a two chip deal.
It's always nice to have a long run of consecutive
serial numbers, but unless your planning on selling
later, or trying to get all of them, what would it matter.

Does anyone know how many of each of the numbered high denominations were produced? I don't believe I've seen any numbered higher than 1900 for either the $500 or $1000.
