How is someone supposed to sell something on ebay?? You have to start somewhere..not everyone has items to sell every week to bring their rating up. Some start by selling $2 items, others at $500...

Well when I started, I made sure to post MANY good pics, not ONE blurry pic from 10 feet away. Then I spend more than thirty seconds describing the object up for bid, and with correct grammar and spelling (imagine that). And I am realistic about the worth of an object. The best way to get a good feedback history is to start with small auctions that allow you to prove your honesty and legitimacy. I would bid on a $10 auction from a new ebayer, but not a $100 auction. Too many thieves and Deadbeats on Ebay.
Someone with ZERO feedback who has been a member for two years is suspect in my book.

I had my original ebay account cracked in 2003 and didn't have any need for a new account until just a few months ago. I have a few high dollar things I want to sell, but it's pointless for me to try. I've found a few classified sites specifically for the type of item I'm trying to sell, but they just don't get traffic.
There are dead beats out there that can artificially inflate their ratings, so it isn't 100% foolproof.

I agree. I have herd of people just eroneously sending each other positive feedback from multiple names to push up their ratings.
I have often wondered how to legitemately get a good rating the honest way if you don't have a ton of things to sell. I've only posted 1 thing for sale and didn't get any bids. I'm assuming it was because I had zero feedback. (I was selling Dave Matthews tickets for face value by the way, ended up that I couldn't go, maybe the deal seemed to good to be true!)
